There is a difference between knowing who God is and truly allowing Him to be the God of your life. Along with our understanding of His nature, there should also come an increasing desire for His presence in our lives. He must rule every work of our lives and lead us in all things.

There comes a point in every person’s life when God begins to knock on the door of their heart. Whether or not you choose to open the door is up to you - but if you choose to do so in faith, then God is faithful and just to perform works in your life that had previously been impossible.

In examining Solomon’s life, we can see Hosea’s prophecy clearly illustrated: If you sow to the wind, you’ll reap the whirlwind in return. 
Solomon sowed disobedience and reaped a multi-generational harvest of the judgment of God for his family. Conversely, if we sow obedience to the wind, then God will answer with the rushing mighty wind of His Spirit, as found in Acts 2. It is still true today that you reap what you sow!

We know that God has the power to do all things, but He requires our faith to put His will into action. Often, we can believe His word, but we can’t receive it for ourselves. Miracles can only come to those who have the faith to believe AND receive His word.

If we are to defeat the enemy and protect our walk with God, we will have to stand up and fight for it. We can’t wait, however, until the enemy has made it into our house. We have to be ready to meet him in the bean patch to defend ANYTHING that the enemy uses to gain access to our homes.

Jesus left us a “Trail of Crumbs” to follow throughout the entire Bible. His death, burial, and resurrection lead to the end destination of salvation with Him. If we obey His word and follow this trail, we can have eternal life with Him!

The book of Genesis tells us about the first time that people began to call on the name of the Lord. Prayer has always been one of the greatest methods of communication between God and His people. This privilege, the opportunity to commune with our Creator, is one we can never take for granted.

In the Old Testament, the people of God were often given victory using common, unassuming weapons. These weapons worked effectively because God was the One using them as instruments for His glory. Likewise, we can still use the same weapons of old, and God will bring us the victory!

The God that we serve can work in the darkness as well as in the light. He is the only one that can take the darkness of our broken lives and use it to make something beautiful. There is no place in our lives so dark that the light of His love cannot reach.
