  • Flavour – Pint Shop, Radmore Farmshop & Botanic Garden Library
This week we hear about the Pint Shop’s new venture, producing its very own beer, as well as the three events it’s promoting at this year’s Eat Cambridge Festival. Radmore Farmshop (pictured) is also at Eat Cambridge, we hear more. Did you know there is a library in the middle of Cambridge’s Botanic Garden? In it are books for the growers of fruit and vegetables dating from the 16th century. What do they reveal? Librarian Jenny Sargent uncovers their secrets. Our resident expert Tine Roche from the Cambridge Cookery School will be reviewing some new kitchen equipment, and Alice Archer from Cambridge Wine Merchants will be guiding us through wines. There will also be an update on Cambridge’s food and drink news.
Presented by Matt Bentman, Alan Alder and Ruth Reyes.

  • Flavour – Food Photography
Lots of us like to photograph food, though with varying degrees of success. Today we get tips from some local experts on how to make a dish look inviting. The Cambridge History Festival is underway, and it includes a look at some historic food and drink. Festival organiser Caroline Biggs is our guide. Most of us know that eating meat isn’t good for the planet. But why? And how can we reduce our meat consumption? Luke Braidshaw reports on an upcoming talk and discussion. Maybe eating more celeriac is the answer. Nazima Pathan of Franglais Kitchen has some ideas for this neglected vegetable, including using it in a dessert. Dave Fox also joins us, with his tips for growing your own fruit and veg. All that and the city and university food and drink news too.
Presented by Matt Bentman, Alan Alder and Ruth Reyes.

  • Flavour – Eating Grubs
This week Flavour covers some quite unusual foods. We find out about the food seminars happening at Cambridge University, which have included eating grubs and adult insects and reporting on lab-grown meat. Not quite so exotic, but pretty impressive all the same, is what’s on sale at Culinaris in Mill Road, we investigate. Heidi White gives an up date on highlights at Eat Cambridge food and drink; we check out Mee and I in Castle Hill, Romano’s Kitchen at Burwash Manor, and what’s new in wines at Noel Young Wines. And for a further treat, Aoife Maxwell has designed a new Valentines Cocktail.

  • Flavour – Rewind 2015
The team looks back at the food and drink triumphs of 2015 in Cambridge. It was a great year for streetfood, cafes, independent producers, pubs, cookbooks, and therefore for eaters and drinkers. We also take a look forward to the launch, next Wednesday, of the Cambridge Food Assembly, a new way of buying direct from local producers whilst sipping a G&T or other drink of your choice.
Presented by Matt Bentman, Alan Alder and Ruth Reyes.

  • Flavour – Christmas Edition
What do people in Cambridge like to eat at Christmas? We find out, and we have some recommendations about what to drink too, including a new specially designed cocktail by Aoife Maxwell. We visit one of Cambridge’s new independents, Novi, which opened this year and hear about a new street food provider who will be on the streets of Cambridge next year. If you’re finding it hard to keep up with the explosive growth of independent food businesses, you’ll welcome the new edition of Independent Cambridge. We speak with editor Anne Beamish about it. All that and Cambridge’s food and drink news too.
