Today we had the great opportunity to sit down with Tausha Pearson, a Minnesota native who founded and operates Haiti Mama. Haiti Mama is a nonprofit organization that bills itself as a 'orphanage alterative' that provides services, training and support to Haitian mothers to keep kids out of orphanages and at home with their mama's.
We discuss Tausha's amazing story, what her organization is up to as well as her experiences shifting back and forth from rural Minnesota to urban environments across the US as well as her extensive time working and living abroad.
We also still cover 'what the heck' is up with Apples bloody syringe emoji? Apparently snow blowers are an 'amputation risk'? Minnesotan's band together to help find vaccines for folks as 'vaccine hunters', NASA lands a new rover on Mars and the northern cold snap breaks with some funny coping stories.
This conversation is apart of a "Story Mapping" project in collaboration with the Rethos organization, Springboard for the Arts & the Ottertail County Historical Society.

Kristin Christenson is a longtime friend, Flyover super-fan, West Wing uber-super-fan and a former congressional aid to an Iowa Congressman. We asked Kristin to join us to hear more of her story and experiences of what working on Capital Hill is actually like, help us wade through some legislative terms (reconciliation? filibuster?) and get another perspective on how this crazy thing we call democracy actually works.
Also WTH? San Francisco school board goes on a school renaming tear, Republicans across the country are getting censured for being Republican, Stacy Abrams AND Jared Kushner get Nobel Peace Prize Nominations, and screaming goats return!
Make yourselves a sandwich, this one is a doozy!
