Born in 1990 in Villach, comedian David Stockenreitner was a premie-baby (born two months too early). The resulting disability he has in right arm and left leg certainly does not define him or his comedy but he is absolutely not shy about it informing his craft. David came to Vienna in 2013 to study Theater, Film, and Media and to penetrate the small but growing English stand-up scene in the capital city. He gained confidence and decided to penetrate the German-speaking comedy realm too. This has garnered quite a few comedy prizes and appearances on television such as on shows like Pratersterne on ORF1 and two series of Comedy Central Deutschlands Roast Battle. His current show program or comedy routine is called Down and he conceived and wrote it during the lockdowns. Riem Higazi caught up with David to talk about the generational divide when it comes to comedy plus hitting comedians soft spots.
