Within the grip of winter,  it is almost impossible to imagine the spring. 
The gray landscape is shorn of color. Winter is the oldest season; it has some quality of the absolute.

When Jesus says, to "love your enemies." I think he is challenging us to meet them, to get to know them for who they are rather than who we imagine them to be. Genuine meeting leads to love.

It is our teaching that when the Word of God is proclaimed at liturgy, we are not remembering something God once said.  God is speaking to us live, now, through these graced words.

it stands to reason that Jesus’s first public “sign” takes place at a wedding feast,  for Jesus himself is the marriage of divinity and humanity.

It is a mythic river that Jesus wades into, the Jordan, which flows under the same sky where a mighty wind was sweeping over the waters at the dawn of Creation.
