प्रेस स्वतन्त्रता, विचार तथा अभिव्यक्ति स्वतन्त्रता, सूचनाको हकको प्रवद्र्धन र प्रयोगका लागि संघर्ष गरिरहेका योद्धाहरुको भेलामा केही गम्भीर विषयवस्तुहरु उठे ।

नेपालका सबै सात प्रदेशमा विचार तथा अभिव्यक्ति स्वतन्त्रतामा वकालत गर्ने अभियानकर्मीहरुको छलफल र जमघटमा मुलुकमा देखिएको अप्ठेरो परिस्थिति र बढ्दो दण्डहीनतासँगै यो अभियानमा देखा परेका चुनौती र समाधानका प्रयासहरु समेटिएकोे पोडकास्टको यो शृखलामा अभियन्ताहरुका संघर्षको कथा प्रस्तुत छ ।

This episode is based on the report “Impunity Continues Unabated” that disclose the story of 28 journalists who were killed and disappeared since insurgency period till now. FF updated the report along with continued informed advocacy in ordered to press the concerned stakeholders including political leaders and lawmakers for the political will to heed the long pending impunity related to crime against journalists/ media persons.

Through this podcast, FF exerts pressure on government bodies to take initiative to ensure a safe atmosphere for journalists, help create a favorable atmosphere to reduce impunity, contribute to promote professional journalism and ensure justice to the family of a victim media person.

आफ्नो सरोकारको विषयमा सूचना माग्न जाँदा खाँडाचक्र नगरपालिका वडा नंं ४, कालिकोटका शिक्षक सत्यप्रसाद आचार्यले उल्टो हप्कीदप्की खेपेका छन् ।

शिक्षक सेवा आयोग सानोठिमी भक्तपुरमा आफ्नो सरोकारको सूचना माग गर्न गएका आचार्यलाई २०७५ साल चैत ७ गते त्यस कार्यालयका सूचना अधिकारीले गाली गरेर पठाए । सूचना अधिकारीले गाली गरेर फर्काएपछि उनी फ्रिडम फोरमको सम्पर्कमा आए । फ्रिडम फोरमले उनको कुरा सुनिसकेपछि सूचनाको हकसम्बन्धी ऐन २०६४ र संविधानको धारा २७ बमोजिम सूचना मागको निवेदन तयार पारी चाआर्यलाई पुनः शिक्षक सेवा आयोग पठायो । त्यसबेला पनि उनको सूचना मागको निवेदन दर्ता भएन, सूचना अधिकारीले उल्टै परीक्षामा नपढ्ने अहिले सूचन माग्ने भन्दै गाली गरेर पठाए । अहिले उनको सूचना मागको निवेदन फ्रिडम फोरमले हुलाकमार्फत शिक्षक सेवा आयोग पठाएको छ ।

When one comes to talk about the armed insurgencies that afflicted Nepal for over a decade, the violence as killing and torture reminds a horrible past. The killings were caused by both sides-the state and then rebellion. The family of both who were killed and tortured are still bound to live the post-conflict social psychology characterized by emotional setbacks and traumas. Many of them have various stories to share. Although the political parties and the governments following the end of armed insurgencies with the beginning of the peace process made several commitment that they would take initiative to carter justice no substantial work to this has dampened their hopes. Facing several struggles, the family, however, are gradually coming to normal life with much difficulty but with haunting horror of the past. Today we have a person, a daughter of a journalist killed during the insurgency period, who reminds a terrible past. Trishna Acharya is a daughter of slain journalist Dev Kumar Acharya(D. Kaudinya) believes that insurgency took the life of her intellectual father and shares the painful moment of the sleepless nights. After the killing of her father struggle of the family and lambasts the selfish politics and politicians but still hopes for peace, respect, and justice. Her emotional voice urges all sides to address impunity for crime against journalist and against her father.

नेपाल जलवायु परिवर्तनको असरको अत्यन्तै जोखिममा रहेको देश जलवायु परिवर्तनसँग सम्बन्धित नागरिक बजेट जलवायु परिवर्तनबाट हुने प्रभावहरुलाई सम्बोधन गर्न सरकारले के के कसरी बजेटको विनियोजन गरेको छ भन्ने विषयमा फ्रिडम फोरममा भएको छलफल आजको विषय यसमा सहभागी हुनुहुन्छ फ्रिडम फोरमका प्रमुख कार्यकारी तारानाथ दाहाल, उपाध्यक्ष सहजमान श्रेष्ठ र फ्रिडम फोरमका नीति सल्लाहकार कृष्णप्रसाद सापकोटा ।

सीमांकको विरोधमा तत्कालीन मधेसी मोर्चाले थालेको आन्दोलनको समाचार संकलन गर्न २०७२ साल भदौ २३ गते महोत्तरी सदरमुकाम जलेश्वर पुगेका १७ वर्षिय युवा पत्रकार रोहन चौधरीले प्रहरीको गोली लागेर ज्यान गुमाए र सोही आन्दोलन एकै परिवारका अर्का सदस्य ६० वर्षीय रेडक्रसकर्मी तथा क्रियाशील पत्रकार गणेश चौधरीको पनि ज्यान गयो । तर आजसम्म पिडित् परिवारले न्याय पाएको छैन ।
