j’aime bien ✨ - notice how often it recurs in this dialogue - French people say it much more frequently than simply ‘j’aime’ in this context. 

sinon.. = otherwise, if not. Lève-toi sinon tu seras en retard. (Get up, otherwise you'll be late). Also just ‘anyway / by the way’—a bit of a filler—“Et sinon, toi, tu deviens quoi ?” (And anyway, what are you up to yourself)?

nous ayons -  in reality ‘nous’ is hardly ever used in oral conversation, spoken French almost always defers to ‘on’, but of course we need to know about nous (just in case! .. and for reading).

je parie que ✨ = I bet that. "Je parie qu'il va pleuvoir demain." (I bet it's going to rain tomorrow.) - A handy phrase for making predictions or challenges in a casual, conversational way. It adds a playful edge to your French banter!

je viens de.. ✨ = = I just. "Je viens d'arriver à la gare." (I just arrived at the station.). You’re trump card for talking about recent actions. “Je viens de rentrer des États-Unis” (I've just returned from the US.). And perhaps the most helpful of all for you guys? “C'est correct, ce que je viens de dire ?” (Is that correct, what I've just said?)

par curiosité ✨ = par simple intérêt = out of curiosity = Have you ever wondered why cats always land on their feet? Well, par curiosité, I asked my neighbor's cat, but sadly, she just meowed and walked away.

très courant = commun, habituel = very common / everyday / popular = In France, finding a bakery on every corner is très courant.

Et puis… = et ensuite, de plus = and then, moreover. Add more to your story!  kind of like saying, "Wait, there's more!" Like when you're telling a friend about your day: "J'ai mangé une baguette, et puis, I saw a dog wearing a beret!"

t'es une vrai-e ✨ = you're a real one. Used to emphasize someone's characteristic or skill.

génial ✨ = formidable, super = awesome, great. We’re covering the real fundamentals and this is one of them. When learning a language it pays to nearly always be positive - when you want to say something positive (or have nothing else to say in response!) this is your trusty friend.

When French people say "on s'entend bien", they're talking about more than just hearing each other. It's all about getting along like bread and cheese!

plutôt ✨ = assez, relativement = rather, quite. This little word packs a punch, adding a subtle nuance to your sentence. Il est plutôt beau, mon nouveau prof de maths!" (My new math teacher is rather handsome!).

des fois ✨= parfois, quelquefois = sometimes, occasionally = Use this when you want to sound like a true French local.

de temps en temps ✨= occasionnellement = from time to time = This phrase is your go-to for those not-so-frequent occurrences.
