In this episode, we dive deep into the wild world of dating in healthcare—from hospital hallway flirtations to the eternal debate: Should healthcare workers date each other or not? We’ve got stories (some cute, some cringey), and real talk from two married nurses whose first date was in… yep, the hospital cafeteria.
We've been out of the dating game for over a decade, so should you even take advice from us? Probably not. But that’s where our sponsor, DownToDate, comes in. It’s the new dating app built specifically for healthcare workers—because sometimes, only another night-shifter can really understand you.
Whether you're a nurse, tech, doc, healthcare-adjacent, or swingers trying to connect with like-minded healthcare workers (no judgement), this one’s for you!

"I was tired of getting yelled at" is a common theme in this industry, but it has not deterred ER nurse Madalyn.
Madalyn got a degree in business and was managing moving theaters (where she was getting yelled at) when she decided to go back to school for nursing (and get yelled at there instead). An accomplished student, she has her associates, bachelor's, and master's, but she's currently working towards her doctorate while working in the ER, while also being a nurse instructor! She has her hand deep into nursing, she thrives on the chaos, and she loves what she does. A refreshing dose of someone trying to make a change to bullying in nursing, making it a safer profession, and teaching new grad nurses with kindness!
Take a listen and if you're considering going back to school for nursing, then this ER nurse may be able to help you make the decision!

This is Dr. Lorre Laws - An absolute pivot queen who started as a CNA, then became an integrated nursing professor, nursing scientist, and author! She came up during a time when nurses had to wear all white and give up their seats to physicians...
So she got mad and wrote a book. Entirely self-funded, this book and all the research into nurse burnout were done without grants or help to get more resources out about the things in the industry that STILL SUCK: The gaslighting, the victim blaming, and the all-around tom foolery of the patriartical aspect of it all. Join us for the most fun and honest conversation! Small spoiler: Burnout is preventable, not inevitable.
