It's only a short journey around to the stadium formerly know as the Madjeski and Mike went with a hop, skip and jump. The aim, to see how the new signings did and if there was a little bit more to come from the Watford squad, new or old.
As the transfer windown shut this week, Jon, Jason and Mike gathered to discuss what state Watford squad have been left in.
And after the match, MIke is joined by Watford blogging legend Matt Rowson to discuss the match, including a controversial moment/decision or two.

Watford are on the road, so that means another awayday companion podcast!
This week we are delighted to bring you our chat with broadcaster, friend of the podcast and Watford supporter Kelly Somers.
We spoke to Kelly about her brilliant career so far, including what it is like to be following England through major tournaments and home and abroad - including how difficult and challenging it can be when things don’t go exactly to plan.
Kelly explains what it’s like to follow Watford (often finding out the Hornets score live on air) as well as talking about her recent brush with Hollywood when meeting Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds.
It’s a fascinating chat and we’re sure you’ll enjoy it. It’s Kelly from the telly, and this is From the Rookery End!

Jon, Jas and Jon were joined by FTRE debutant Adam Drury to discuss a frustrating afternoon at Vicarage Road, which saw Watford labour to a stodgy draw against struggling Rotherham.
The lads run the rule over the performance, look ahead to the tricky trip to Middlesbrough and discuss what might happen in the remainder of the transfer window.
There is also insight on the Benfica striker Henrique Araújo, who looks set to join the Hornets on loan until the end of the season. A big thanks to Aaron Barton of Proxima Jornada for his expert view on what sounds like an exciting capture.

So dreams do come true after all! On the 6th Graham Taylor matchday, in the significant 72nd minute, Watford Academy graduate Tobi Adeyemo opened the scoring for the Hornets on his home debut to create the latest in a long line of memorable matchday moments at WD18.
Jon, Jas, Colin and Mike gathered after the 2-0 win to discuss the game and the key issues arising from it, including what might happen in the rest of the transfer window, whether Hassane Kamara will get back into the side over James Morris, as well as, of course, a nod to the great Graham Taylor.
It was a good day. Here’s our take. This is From the Rookery End.

Some felt it was too far and too soon after the Swansea humiliation to make the trip to Norfolk and see Watford take on Norwich, Colin was not one of them. Along with Jon and DCW, he discusses the performance we could only wish for 72 hours ago. It wasn't a main event but it was a huge step forward for Slaven and the boys. The trio discuss the players that stepped up, showed up and those that lead the line and the defence.
