Oh we love a win but we really love a win against a big team even more. Jon, Jason and Colin gather outside The Vic, at the bottom of Occupation Road, to discuss the huge changes in the team over the last few games, they find it hard to identify a man of the match and they simply enjoy a wonderful home win.
Pure happiness is a rarity on FTRE, but then we didn't have Mike this week!

We made it through another International break and that can only mean one thing. From the Rookery End is back!
In this, our latest Thursday edition, Adam Leventhal is joined by Mike and DCW to discuss a fascinating piece that featured on The Athletic about players and the age at which they hit their peak. The team discuss how Watford shape up compared to other teams in the division and discuss whether the Hornets’ older average age is by design.
There’s also a chat about Watford’s newest defensive recruit Nicolas Nkoulou, while Adam, Mike and Dave also ponder the Goalkeeping conundrum at Vicarage Road; a situation that took a fascinating turn with the recent arrival of Maduka Okeye from Sparta Rotterdam.
As you’d expect, there’s also a look ahead to the upcoming fixture with Manchester United, so there’s no time to waste - get listening! This is From the Rookery End!

It was an awayday to remember, well just because going away with a load of friends is always the best way to make football memories. Jon, Mike (with Flo and Arlo), DCW and Colin (with another Flo and Lilly) made the short trip to The Emirates to see Watford's disapponitingly lose 1-0.
Join them as their journey through London, including a fry up brunch, deciding on a best Watford Loanee XI, then heading to Colin's local pub, The Pineapple in Kentish Town, before the 2pm kick off at The Arsenal for a game and a performance they really weren't looking forward to.
An awayday is a good day, even if Watford lose, and this is FROM THE ROOKERY END.

When Thursday comes around it's great to catch up with all things Watford with Adam Leventhal and his gang of trusted friends. This week Adam, the Athletic's Watford FC correspondent, is joined by DCW and Mike, where they discuss the state of the defence, and what can be done, the data behind Ranieri's first few games in charge and how the clubs plans for new communication with fans and the club's hierarchy.
Brought to you by the Athletic, this is From The Rookery End.

Three games into Claudio Ranieri's Watford reign and, after Watford's 1-0 home defeat to Southampton we find ourselves in a funny place - despair but not quite desperate. Jon, Mike Colin and Jason gathered to discuss the action and where the team, manager and one particular player didn't help us get the win.
You'll also hear the story of the Airman who laid the wreath of remembrance before the game, many years of following Watford from around the world and Mike talks to Callum from Proud Hornets to discuss allyship and us learning a bit more from what life can be like for Watford fans in the LGBT community. Plus Geoff Wicken, editor of The Watford Treasury, tells us what we will find in the latest volume.

When Thursday comes around there is only one thing to listen to: a midweek From The Rookery End hosted by Adam Leventhal.
This week Adam, the Watford correspondent for The Athletic, is joined by Mike and Jon to continue to talk about the fantastic win at Everton and they looked ahead to a different sort of challenge on the weekend, when Southampton visit the Vic.
Plus, after Adam's piece, inspired by the interview on the Weekend's podcast between Kelly Somers and Kate Lewers, they discuss how we can be a better ally and play our role in making matches a place for everyone.

From a 5-0 defeat to 5-2 win, this week, we've seen an almighty swing in results and performances from the current batch of Golden Boys.
Jon, Mike and Colin gathered on Sunday, the morning after, to not only find a happy Mike but to praise the effort of Watford as a team, the choices of the Head Coach and a stand out performance from Joshua King.
You'll also hear from Kelly Somers and Kate Lewers. Two Women of Watford sharing their lives as fans of Watford FC and how we can help by being allies to every Watford fan.

It’s Thursday which means another From the Rookery End podcast. This one looking forward to the weekend trip to Everton, try to work out what needs to change after the humiliation from the Blues Merseyside neighbours last time out.
After Adam’s piece on The Athletic about Ben Foster attracted some strong responses, Adam, DCW and Mike discuss the situation, which saw the Hornets’ goalkeeper coming in for criticism after, among other things, providing tickets for a Liverpool supporter in the home section of Vicarage Road.
There’s also a look ahead to the AFCON, which may be taking some players away from their clubs for longer than you might have initially thought.
What we’re saying is, there is plenty to go at in this, your latest edition of From the Rookery End.

After a chastening afternoon at Vicarage Road, Jon, Jason and (a less than impressed) Mike gather to discuss a defeat against rampant Liverpool.
While Jon and Jas search for positives, Mike is in an altogether less charitable mood, with the Hornets’ defence torn to shreds by the visiting reds, with precious little cause for optimism further upfield too.
Where did it go wrong? Where do Watford go from here? Have a listen and let us know…

The international break is over, the Premier League is back and so is Adam Leventhal with another From the Rookery End podcast, brought to you by The Athletic.
Adam is joined by David Cameron Walker to reflect on what Claudio Ranieri had to say as he spoke to the media for the first time since becoming the new Watford Head Coach. There was plenty of the Italian's customary charm, wisdom and wit but we also gained plenty of interesting detail and insight in to how his Watford side may take shape in the coming weeks.
The most pressing concern is of course the Liverpool game on Saturday so as well as hearing from Claudio we also cast our eye towards the game with a mixture of nervousness and excitement as yet another new era for Watford FC is set to get underway.
Welcome Claudio, and COME ON YOU ORNS!
