  • 10: Spurs got Deeneyed (9.7)

    WATFORD 2-1 SPURS

Yeah... we beat Spurs, for the first time in over 30 years. After a fantastic win, Jon, Jason and Colin discuss a comeback win for the Hornets which will be remembered by us and the rest of the League for a good while.

The boys also discuss the League Cup win away at Reading, and all the new boys that were on show, plus Colin talks about why Javi Gracia is really awesome!

  • 9: Aidy Boothroyd - Catching up with...

As one of only 3 men to get Watford promoted to the Premier League, Aidy Boothroyd arrived at Vicarage Road in 2005, with little fanfare and a lot of questions. However, the following season was a whirlwind, which, as we all know, led to promotion in an emphatic win in the 2006 Championship Play Off final against Leeds at the Millennium Stadium.

His time at Watford ended, like so many managers, badly in 2008 and in this Catching Up with Jon talks with Aidy at St George’s Park, where he now leads the next generation of young England players, as the Coach of England Under 21. They discuss his time as the Manager of Watford and now, 10 years on, how he reflects and looks back on his impact, signings and life since leaving The Vic.

  • 8: No way, Jose! (9.6)

    WATFORD 2-1 CRYSTAL PALACE

It was raining, but oh the Hornets kept on shining. 3 wins in a row for the Golden Boys and this one might have been a little trickier, but also sweeter due to a certain Wilf Zaha.

Kieran is on hosting duties and he is joined by Jason, Jordi and DCW to talk through the satisfying win.

    BURNLEY 1-3 WATFORD

An away win AND goals away from home… 3 of them on less!

Things are looking very different this season.

In this week's podcast, Mike has an early start to get up to Burnley and this is the story of his day. There's plenty of joy, chatting to lots of travelling hornets and a few weather reports.

  • 6: Roberto at the Double (9.4) 2-0 Brighton & Hove Albion

    WATFORD 2-0 BRIGHTON

Here we go again, season 9 of FTRE and the 4th in the Premier League.

The Hornets start the season with a Bobby Dazzler game at the The Vic and Jon, Jason and Mike discuss the consummate performance and the players who influenced the game.

And the transfer window closed this week and the boys try and look past a lack of new striker and discuss why the Scott and Gino brought the payers they have and maybe not the ones many fans wished for.

  • 5: Thank You Graham (9.3)

    WATFORD 1-1 SAMPDORIA

Back for the final podcast in preseason, Jon and Colin were at Vicarage Road to see the unveiling of the Graham Taylor Statue. You'll hear some moments of the ceremony, the reaction of Lionel Birnie, author of Graham's autobiography, and we hear your memories of meeting Graham.

In terms of football, preseason has come to an end, but Jon and Colin briefly discuss the game against Sampdoria.

  • Catching Up with... Andy Hessenthaler

With more stamina and energy than a Lucozade factory, Andy Hessenthaler played over 200 games for the Hornets on a pair 'good legs' and never played a game at less than 100%.

In this second episode of 'Catching Up with', Lionel Birnie spends some time with Andy, to discuss his rise from Non-League Football, his almost smooth integration into the Watford first team, his success in one of the worst periods of Watford's history and a miss understood exit in 1996.

Along the way they had a chat about what's been going on at Watford recently - Ricky and a new kits - plus they talk to fellow walker, and former Watford player, Richard Johnson about the summer break.

  • Not a World Cup Podcast... kinda (9.1)

England won a World Cup quarter final and what could top that? How about the FTRE boys recording a podcast? No... fair enough!

But anyway, Jon, Mike and Jason are back for the start of the 9th season of FTRE podcasts and, along with Jordi and Kieran, look at the season ahead, the new arrivals at Vicarage Road plus chat to a few friends who are over at the World Cup.

  • Catching up with... Nigel Gibbs

With over 20 years of service, and more starts than any other player in Watford history, Nigel Gibbs is a one-club man who can justifiably claim the title of 'Mr Watford'.

This brand new podcast series, where we, along with fellow watford fan Lionel Birnie, talk to the people who have played a part in Watford's History, whether it on or off the pitch. To kick things off, Lionel caught up with Sir Nigel at the Grove Hotel, back in March, to talk about his time at Watford, experiencing some of the clubs biggest moments and making it through the lowest of lows.
