Hello everyone, happy Monday and welcome to Noles News Now, the latest in Florida State Seminoles sports, brought to you by Tomahawk Nation. I’m your host Perry Kostidakis — let’s jump right in.
FSU football is turning its attention towards NC State after dropping its first game of the year and falling out of the top 25. The Seminoles couldn’t overcome a sloppy first half in a comeback bid against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and now will have to try to steal one on the road vs. the Wolfpack, who are coming off a top 10 loss to Clemson.
Right now, DraftKings has NC State as a 3-point favorite over FSU, which actually is pretty favorable towards the Seminoles — you assume about a 3-point cushion for home teams, so in Vegas’ eyes, this is a relative toss-up. Seminoles will have their hands full, especially with Wolfpack quarterback Devin Leary who is one of the conference’s best, but the team is going to be chomping at the bit to redeem itself after the performance against Wake.
That game vs. NC State is set for an 8 p.m. kickoff, it’ll be broadcast on the ACC Network.
On the soccer front, No. 7 FSU remained undefeated after notching a 1-0 victory over Miami Hurricanes on Saturday — you can read a full recap on Tomahawk Nation. Up next for the defending national champions is a tough stretch of conference opponents — No. 2 Virginia Cavaliers, No. 16 Notre Dame, No. 4 Duke Blue Devils and then No. 3 North Carolina Tar Heels. FSU has put together one of the country’s best offenses and a defense that has only allowed 4 goals in 10 games, and now it’s going to get a chance to prove itself as it seeks a repeat title.
Volleyball beat North Carolina in a five-set thriller to advance to 10-5 on the season and 2-2 in conference play — the Seminoles now face off against Miami this Wednesday. FSU sits No. 20 in RPI while the Hurricanes, who are 11-3 on the season, sit at No. 14.
Those are the main big things of the day — thank you for listening and supporting us — if you want more of something we’re doing, if you want us to change anything up, please please either leave a comment on the website or in a review.
