Funky House by Party Favorz

This December 2K14 edition of The House Sessions is a funky deep house set assembled to gather tracks that missed the prior month’s mix and keep the groove going into the holidays. It leans into deep, soulful textures with a touch of funk so the mix works equally well as a late-night soundtrack or warm background for cold winter evenings.

Highlights thread club-ready originals and remixes into a cohesive flow, including Chris Lake & Chris Lorenzo’s Wicked Games, a Phunktastike rework of Blondie’s “Rapture,” Illyus & Barrientos’ take on Gorgon City feat. Jennifer Hudson, and downtempo remix treatments of Lana Del Rey by Crom & Thanh. Shadow Child’s remix of Mary J. Blige and Shift K3Y’s twist on Jessie Ware add familiar vocal anchors amid deeper, lesser-known cuts. Clocking in at just over 90 minutes, this set is built from leftovers and new floor fillers—no filler, just a warm, late-year deep house stew.

Funky House mix — The House Sessions, November 2014 — a late‑year set built to move packed dance floors for an hour and twenty minutes. Party Favorz stitches early‑80s throwback soul into modern club edits, riding a groove from Adri Block’s Evelyn King‑tinged So In Love through disco‑tinged vocal house and floor‑ready remixes.

Highlights include Two Kings feat. The Queen’s gospel‑soul surge on Say Yes (Jamie Lewis mix), Mark Picchiotti’s Shelter with Rufus Proffit channeling 70s soul over contemporary beats, and Ron Louis Smith’s raw take on the disco classic Spank. The mix also drops Ruffneck & Yavahn’s Everybody Be Somebody update, Gorgon City feat. Jennifer Hudson’s deep Go All Night, and closes with Jax Jones’ rework of Duke Dumont’s Won’t Look Back, balancing throwback warmth with current club energy.

Expect funky house, NuDisco, and soulful moments aimed squarely at dancers who love vocals, classic grooves, and modern edits.

A Funky House Summer XO release from 2014, Volume 2 is a sunlit, dancefloor-friendly deep house and nu-disco set built for late-summer listening and backyard BBQs. This nearly two-hour mix gathers bright, vocal-led club tracks and melodic instrumentals to keep the energy warm and portable for daytime play.

Highlights include Basement Jaxx’s “Never Say Never,” Duke Dumont’s “Won’t Look Back,” and Kiesza’s “Hideaway” (Danny Dove Rework), with nods to Nora En Pure’s deeper melodic work, Ultra Nate’s Crazibiza remix, and a playful 2014 take on Stardust’s classic. The sequence balances familiar singalong moments with deeper house grooves, making it easy to move between peak vocal cuts and more hypnotic stretches.

Host notes mention two new mixtapes already finished, an upcoming Diva Hall of Fame induction, and a site redesign that will roll out in September. Expect more Party Favorz releases in the fall as the schedule shifts into October.

This episode is Funky House and Deep House — Summer XO 2014 Volume 1 — a two-set, late-summer sendoff built around moody, after-dark grooves. It’s designed as a darker, introspective contrast to bright disco revivals, the kind of mix for night drives and low-light rooms rather than daytime roller rinks.

Highlights thread through pop-to-club pivots and deep reworks: The Ting Tings’ “Wrong Club” (The Super Criticals Club Mix) sets a surprisingly bleak tone, while Mart & Casey’s take on Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” leans into that moody deep-house vibe. Expect club-ready remixes from Cutmore (Sia’s “Chandelier”), Lane 8 (Eric Prydz’s “Liberate”), and MK (Lana Del Rey’s “West Coast”), with Purple Disco Machine and Gene Farris adding warm, textured funk amid the darker selections.

Total time: 01:49:43. Part 2 follows tomorrow for anyone wanting to sink further into the set.

This is a Funky House Beach House mix from 2014, Volume 2 — a sun-ready set that moves from warm vocal slow-burners into peak-time disco-house energy. The sequence opens mellow with a balearic vocal and steadily builds through fresh remixes and revived classics, designed for weekend listening and poolside afternoons.

Highlights include Sam Smith’s Stay With Me in a Soul Clap Balearic take and Duke Dumont’s I Got U turned over to MK’s club touch, both used to steer the set’s momentum. Block & Crown’s filtered-disco remake of “New York City Girls” and a Tommie Sunshine & Disco Fries revamp of Madison Avenue’s “Don’t Call Me Baby” nod to classic source material while keeping a modern groove. Mark Knight’s darker club cut and the Party Favorz edit of Frankie Knuckles’ extended mix of Michael Jackson’s “Love Never Felt So Good” provide peak moments before the mix winds into deeper late-set territory.

Clocking in around an hour and a half, Beach House 2K14 v2 balances polished edits with disco-house warmth for summer DJ sets and laid-back listening.

Funky house and disco set, Glitter Bomb (2013), arrives as a quick antidote to the winter blues—an 81-minute mix built to lift the mood with soulful disco edits and modern funky house. This episode was assembled as a straight-up pick-me-up, leaning on remixes and deep disco energy to push through the colder months.

Highlights include Bunny Sigler’s Julien Jabre remix and a remastered Gwen Guthrie cut, with contemporary turns from Disclosure feat. Mary J. Blige, Claptone, Duck Sauce, and Duke Dumont feat. Jax Jones. The flow balances classic Nu‑disco textures and peak-time house grooves, moving from tender vocal edits to propulsive dancefloor moments without losing momentum.

Funky House mix Disco Bomb (2014) is a companion-style collection that leans into sophisticated, disco-inflected house rather than peak EDM. Curated as a follow-up to last year’s Disco Lounge, this set stitches classic vocal disco reworks and contemporary remixes into a cohesive hour-plus journey. Highlights include Ariana Grande’s “Baby I” in the Frankie Knuckles & Eric Kupper Director’s Cut, Patrice Rushen’s “Haven’t You Heard” as the Joey Negro Extended Disco Mix, and Rufus & Chaka Khan’s “Any Love” (Sanny X Club Mix 2014). The mix also nods to George Benson’s Give Me The Night rework, classic house from Steve “Silk” Hurley, and a modern retro touch by Gramophonedzie, balancing nostalgia with club-ready polish. The curator explains this set was held until the gaps were filled, making Disco Bomb a tighter, more considered sequel to Disco Lounge. Expect seasonal mixes and fresh EDM content in the weeks following this release.

Funky House mix Disco Lounge (2013) pulls together disco, funk, house and soul into a late-night set meant for cruising from Peachtree to Hot Mess Blvd. This installment blends classic vocal grooves and modern edits into a relaxed, grown-up two-hour sequence designed to loosen you up and keep the floor moving.

Highlights include a Giorgio Moroder & Chris Cox remix of Donna Summer’s “To Love You Baby,” Matt Smallwood’s 2013 rework of Inner City’s “Good Life,” and Gui Boratto’s remix of Wankelmut & Emma Louise’s “My Head Is A Jungle.” The mix also dips into Jody Watley’s “Nightlife,” a Hot Toddy take on Joey Negro & The Sunburst Band, and a fresh Pyxis remix of Evelyn “Champagne” King’s “Love Come Down.”

The host sets a playful, slightly sardonic bar-narrative — dress code, cab directions, and all — while promising carefully chosen back spins and smooth transitions. Expect soulful moments, tight edits, and a playlist that favors groove over flash for a mature dance-floor vibe.
