Today on mic, we're celebrating (pitching to) one of the greatest to ever do it. Bank robber, detective, surveillance specialist, Memphis lawyer, nuclear submarine caption, Indiana high school basketball coach, and mayor of Mooseport GENE HACKMAN in the year 1977. But first a really long tangent about Hoosiers. Then we chat about Hackman's presence in New Hollywood films such as Bonnie and Clyde, The Conversation, Night Moves, and of course The French Connection (7:53). Will breaks down how these performances differ from his later career and approach to some of my Hackman core texts such as The Firm, The Firm, Crimson Tide, and The Firm. Then we pitch to Gene in the year 1977. Smack in the middle of a changing Hollywood (52:53).
oh and some real SMUT at the tail end (1:09:08)
