General Hospital fans brace for a somber week ahead as the beloved matriarch Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) is set to pass away. Spoilers suggest her death will prompt the return of some long-absent characters to the show. Monica's tragic passing and the potential for significant returns are sure to bring an emotional upheaval to Port Charles. 

GH sees Monica's death, reportedly discovered first by Danny Morgan (Asher Jared Antonyzyn), will trigger a series of heartfelt goodbyes from the Quartermaine family and others. Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) will be the hardest hit, with Jason expected to deliver the eulogy at his mother's funeral.

General Hospital sees the emotional memorial service will likely see the return of some absent Quartermaines. This includes Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) and Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero), Leo Quartermaine (Easton Rocket Sweda), and Brooklynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton). Other characters including Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza), Emma (Jophielle Love), and Jake Webber (Hudson West) might also appear.

General Hospital sees Monica's death may also bring about a reconciliation between Brooklynn and her estranged mother, Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer). Also, the return of Monica's adoptive daughter Sky Quartermaine, and Tracy's son Dylan Quartermaine. The characters might be reprised by Robin Christopher and Robert Palmer Watkins, respectively, for the occasion. Drew Cain Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison), however, might crash the funeral uninvited. Fans can also expect the introduction of Erika Slezak as Monica's never-seen-before sister.
