Your update on the digitalisation of the insurance industry.
In this episode of the Digital Insurance Podcast, I speak with Merlin Beyts, Head of Content at ITC DIA Europe.
ITC DIA Europe is the largest international InsurTech conference with a focus on FinTech. On 22-23 November, ITC DIA Europe is holding an event in Munich with speeches on the topic of artificial intelligence, among other things.
In this episode, we approach the topic of generative AI from the perspective of fraudsters. What happens when technology falls into the wrong hands? To some extent, we already see that. Merlin Beyts gives the example of "catfishing" at the beginning of the episode. In this case, people falsify their identity on dating apps with the help of deep fakes.
The problems of AI have thus arrived in the middle of society. For insurers in particular, the topics of fraud detection and claims fraud play a major role. The losses in the millions that result from this will eventually be passed on to all customers: e.g. through rising premiums. How could insurers counter the problem, I ask? Merlin answers: Infrastructure. However, insurers need partners to build the necessary security measures and fraud detection tools.
On 22 and 23 November, an event for insurers will be organised by ITC DIA Europe in Munich.
