After a tumultuous freshman year at Detroit University, Marlow Henry and Sage Farrell look forward to a calm, uneventful summer break.

Marlowe and Sage are now part of my universe
Yes, Marlowe and Sage are now part of my universe! While it may sound confusing to people noticing my rating, reading the book is an adventure. I want to follow the series to its end. My rating is sadly the result of also being irritatedÂat knowing that with the great imagination and creativity that Lee Strauss has, she should also make sure that the book is written as error-free as possible. ÂÂ
    And the Adventure Continues......
Hickory Dickory Dock is the third in the series! I really enjoyed the story. It can stand alone but reading the first two will add to the enjoyment and mystery! Marlow and Sage have a connection; and not in the way that you would think! The mystery is woven through out the whole book! Who done it or who is doing it! Marlow and Sage must solve the mystery to survive! I think this book will appeal to all audiences, young and old(well, anyone that enjoys a little sci-fi and mystery). Great job Ms. Lee Strauss
Sage & Marlow are edging closer to each other!
Marlow and Sage are transported to a new realm in reality this time. Gone are the dreams, this story is up close and personal. Ms Strauss doesn't cease to amaze, keeping us, as readers, guessing how the mystery is going to be solved. Her characters are fragile and strong, fearful and brave; realistic teens and believable adults. Can't wait for the next in the series.
    Time travel to the future??
Yep! I love that Marlow and Sage went to the future but it was a scary future. Then Zed shows up to help them. Marlow finds his bio dad. When Marlow and Sage got to the year 2096, found nothing but rubble in Detroit. Not only that, the country was in the hands of china. Trying to deAl with all this plus someone murdering some of the 14 people trying to survive. I c a Mr wIt for the next book that will becoming out!!!
    Great series!
I enjoyed this book even more than the prior one in this series. I don't want to spoil anything so I'll just leave you with the knowledge that I was surprised at how the author took things even further than the other books went with time travel.

Bizarre and bewildering - that's what so many murder investigations in the past had proved to be.... In this respect, at least, Lewis was correct in his thinking. What he could not have known was what unprecedented anguish the present case would cause to Morse's soul.
Chief Superintendent Strange's opinion was that too little progress had been made since the discovery of a corpse in a North Oxford flat. The victim had been killed by a single stab wound to the stomach. Yet the police had no weapon, no suspect, no motive.
Within days of taking over the case Chief Inspector Morse and Sergeant Lewis uncover startling new information about the life and death of Dr Felix McClure. When another body is discovered, Morse suddenly finds himself with rather too many suspects. For once, he can see no solution. But then he receives a letter containing a declaration of love....

    A Murdered Don
I always enjoy the Inspector Morse plots which involve Oxford University. In this mystery novel, an Oxford don is murdered, but we don't know why or by whom. In this novel, Morse is his usual brilliant, humorous and irascible self which is always entertaining and Lewis is brighter than he pretends to be. The women characters - or daughters of Cain - are quite sympathetic, and several are attractive, which causes Morse to get distracted. And adds to the juice of the story. You always wish he would connect with one - but there tends to be ardent longing, cross-star influences. Which keeps us fairly focused on the crime. This was more cohesive in plotting than some of the other Morse books I've read. It had a pleasing symmetry. I adore Morse so can't be objective.

This is the 2nd book by Colin Dexter I've read. It rolls along much like the 1st one I read in that it seems to take a while to move along sometimes. That's the worst of it though. It is loaded with clever dialogue. The characters stay true to their personalities, there is no in your face super graphic violence or sex, the chapters each begin with a literary quotation (real and otherwise), and the chapters are rather short. This is great for me because I just read as I can, so knowing I can at least make it through one chapter in the time I have is wonderful! The story itself is a typical murder mystery set in modern times (90's or so). And in the true fashion of British murder mysteries by the end of the book there's been more than one. The thing I enjoy the most is the relationship between Morse and Lewis. Lots of clever and witty banter and Dexter has them playing off each other quite well. If you've never read Colin Dexter this would be a good one to start with.
    Incredible.
I've been a great fan of the Morse BBC series for years. I even own the complete series on DVD and have rewatched all episodes endlessly yet this is the first Morse book I've ever purchased. I think I was always afraid that the written word would be somehow less than. Very happy to be so wrong. I'm still in love with the John Thaw portrayal of Morse but there are some things that you can have drawn out with the printed word that might be rushed through because of time constraints in television.

However, this bus would never reach its final destination.
Sometime during the 10-hour trek to Miami, both he and the rest of the passengers awaken to find themselves duct-taped to their seats and stranded in the middle of nowhere in the black of night. Their captor soon reveals himself, informing them that they are participants in a game of survival.

    Holy. Crap.
This is a book that I will not soon forget. It reminded me of 'From Dusk Till Dawn' in that it starts out real-world scary with a plot that feels possible and quickly spins off into a horrible fantasy. I loved that aspect! I also absolutely loved the characters in this book - every single one seemed dynamic and fully fleshed out. A completely crazy ride, this book is scary, adventure packed, paranormal, fantastical, and even a bit romantic (but not too much). 'Death Wish Game' really has it all and is the most fun read I've had in a while. Aaron Shedlock did a phenomenal job with narration, making each character sound unique so I could tell who was speaking without them being referred to by name. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the horror genre - it was awesome. 10/10
I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.
Ah this is just what I needed for my commute. Non stop action. The way the whole thing played out was a bit like a campy horror, but it worked well for the story. Loved it. The narrator did an awesome job. Loved the performance.
This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review.
    Chk-Tah Chk-Tah
Get your shoes on for this book because it hits the ground running and doesn't stop until the end. This was a really fun book to listen to. I hope that this was meant to be a bit hokey, because it definitely was, but that worked very well for this story. A supernatural twist to the standard game of hunting the world's top predator, humans. Who are the hunters, why are the hunting, who is running the game, will Kyley and Rodney come out of the game alive, and what does Chk-Tah mean? All those questions get answered so come listen to this fun and thrilling ride.
Chateau and Shedlock make a great pair and Shedlock really does a fantastic job.

Title: A Voice in the Night
    Subtitle: Inspector Montalbano, Book 20
    Author: Andrea Camilleri
    Narrator: Mark Meadows
    Format: Unabridged
    Length: 6 hrs
    Language: English
    Release date: 08-24-17
    Publisher: Macmillan Digital Audio
    Genres: Mysteries & Thrillers, Suspense
    Publisher's Summary:
A Voice in the Night is the 20th compelling crime book in the phenomenally successful Inspector Montalbano series by Andrea Camilleri.
It occurred to him that he might not have had anything to do with Strangio's death. It was a voice in the night, an anonymous voice, that had told him this. A voice in the night that could easily have been the voice of his conscience.
Feeling his age as his birthday rolls round once again, Inspector Montalbano decides to cheer himself up by dealing with a young driver's road rage in his own unique way.
But his joy is short-lived, as at police headquarters he receives an angry phone call from a supermarket boss; there's been a robbery at his store, and Montalbano's colleague is treating him as a suspect. On arrival at the scene, Montalbano quickly agrees with Inspector Augello that this was no ordinary break-in, but with the supermarket's infamous links to the Mafia creating problems at every turn, this isn't going to be an easy case for the inspector to solve.
And to add to the inspector's burden, the young driver he made an enemy of earlier on has returned to police headquarters to report a shocking crime.

Another Great Read from the Master
I have the DVD and all the others available....I didn't realize that A Voice in the Night hadn't been translated into English yet and was glad to have a chance to read Camilleri again. I've recommended it to my book club and we'll be discussing it next month. It's a quick read as are all the Montalbano series. Wonderful as the book is, it's not among the best of the series. Less actual sex than usual and Lidia plays a very minor role. Camilleri seems to enjoy getting a kind of revenge on Italy's partiamentarians in the way he brings down the culprits, expecially Strangi's father who it turns out murdered the girl, his mistress. He commits suicide. Catarella is lovely and funny as usual; Fazio and Mimi' their usual sevles, except that Mimi' doesn't get a chance to play the great lover he is in most episodes. These books can be read over and over again with pleasure.
A pretty good Montalbano story! Kept me guessing!
This has a pretty interesting plot and Salvo does not seem to be so obsessed with his age. Normally Iâm not a huge fan of the Mafia storylines but this was quite good and kept me guessing the entire time. In fact, Iâm still not quite sure of the ending. I guess it ends well for Montalbano but to be honest, Iâm not quite totally certain of that. Anyway, is it possible this is the last of the Montalbano books? I think I now have read them all. It has taken me several years and if you have read my reviews youâll find that some I liked, others I did not. I am a huge fan of the movies and they are why I read the books. As Iâve already written, the books are different and in fact Salvo (imho) is not all that likable in the books. In fact he is kind of a jerk. In the movies, he most definitely is not a jerk. At any rate, the series was fun to read but maybe I am ready to move on. But before I go, I just want to reiterate how attached I have become to all the characters in the books: Catarella, Fazio, Mimi... and all the rest. Camilleri has concocted a family that will be impossible to forget. And some day I would love to go to Sicily...

Soooo good. Catching the bad people! Yeah!
I am a fan! This third book continues with the consistent character development and suspense and heart and compassion and even some vengence as the first two novels. Skye and Josh keep focus on their new-ish relationship while maintaining their concentration on the serial killer of women who sends bones to Skye to challenge her to catch him. Although this is a series, one could read this (and the first two) as a stand alone novel. However, I like the build-up of the relationships with all the characters from one book to the next so recommend reading the series in order.
Can't wait for the next Skye Cree novel!
I love the Skye Cree series, just finished Box of Bones. I love the whole thing with Kiya and Atka, and Skye's native American heritage, and Josh's whole thing about the power he can wield in the cyber community and gaming and hacking, and just everything! Love the way the characters grow and develop through the 3 books so far. The characters come across as real flesh and blood people who are responding positively to the horrors perpetrated on them by despicable, sick serial offenders. I also deeply appreciate McKeehan's showcasing the problem of exploitation of young women. As a former police officer, and as a former teacher-librarian, I have seen young people having to deal with horrific circumstances. The idea of Skye's Foundation is super. This is one of those series where, when I finish the last book, I feel a wrench in my gut, and miss the book immediately. Thank goodness McKeehan is writing more!
The final word is bravo! Can't wait to see the next Skye Cree novel this spring! Vickie McKeehan is truly a creative story teller!
    Tucson Librarian
Vickie McKeehan has a brand new fan in foggy San Francisco
This book was recommended to me by Amazon and I was delighted to find it was a series of three novels containing the Skye Cree character. Each book is a new story and can stand on its own but I recommend reading them in sequence for the character development as Skye grows in mind and body. She's an amazing defender of those who can't defend themselves... especially children...because she was once one of the defenseless. Now she has dedicated herself to destroying those that prey on the young. Warning that these bad guys are some of his worst of the worst but there's enough risky rescues to keep you reading til the wee hours of the night and cheering Skye and her cohorts on to the very end. McKeehan also weaves in a wonderful blend of Indian mysticism that Skye inherited from her ancestors along with her wolf spirit guide.

    PERFECT SUNDAY AFTERNOON ENTERTAINMENT
We just adore listening to Patricia Gallimore doing her posh lady and gentlemen voices, so funny we listen all the way through her audiobooks in one go, lasting all day.
This is our third Belchester Chester Chronicle and looking forward to more in this series. Patricia is well known for her character in the great old radio show, The Archers. We could listen to her repeatedly reading her shopping list in various voices.
Professionally read, Patricia is perfect as the over stumped and up her her bloomers, Lady Amanda the upper crust sleuth who cannot help find herself in sticky situations with a murder or two included.
Good old clean fun with a naughty word or two, the best of modern British sleuthing.
    Another fantastic, hysterical addition..

It is up at the top, along with the first two in this wonderful series.
What other book might you compare Snowballs and Scotch Mist to, and why?
You cannot compare these books to anything else, nothing touches them for hilarity.
What does Patricia Gallimore bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you had only read the book?
Patricia makes these books work as they should, wonderful voices and the fabulous timing..make the listen addictive.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
    I scream with laughter.
    Another fun romp!
Who was your favorite character and why?
    Enid is still my favourite.
Have you listened to any of Patricia Gallimores other performances? How does this one compare?
Only reading the other books of this series - and she does it admirably.

My name is Marco and I am flawed. I know that. And I was fine with it until it cost me my family. Now, I'll do anything to get them back - even see a therapist. Which is a joke, because I am a therapist. At least I was before I was fired.
Now, with nowhere else to go, I've had to move out of the city and into the house I inherited here, in the idyllic fishing village of Porthcove, but only for as long as it takes to sell it.
Because something isn't right about this place.
You see, I need the money, so I've started seeing some of the locals, you know, as patients, but I tell you, there's something really disturbing about charming neighbors sharing chilling secrets. And it isn't just that. It's the other things. Strange, inexplicable things. It started with odd smells, creepy sounds, and then the intruders...oh God, the intruders.
Now, a child has gone missing, the police are asking questions, and I'm starting to wonder if they're right. Maybe I can't be trusted, but you should come and see for yourself; there's something seriously wrong with this place. It is something hideous, terrifying, and it's been here the whole time, just waiting to devour my hope, my sanity and maybe even my life.

Things gear up to be too good to be true, but he ignores all warning signs, and fails his way through a morass of things he should do but puts off, until he gets the fright of his life. But why does nobody else see what he does? Enter the psychiatrist, and another battle for truth ensues, with hopes for a happy ending. My greatest disappointment was the ending, when the author had a unique opportunity to end with a paranormal shock, and chose a psychotic end instead. A real shame, for it would have gotten a 5 star rating from me, with an enthusiastic urge to read the book!
    Tumultuous tale!

It's certainly right up there with the most engaging of them all. The narrator is full of personality that twists and molds to fit each character.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
It certainly did, the story throws you into a messed up situation with a messed up person, Marco, watching him fight his way back to some sense of clarity was at times heart wrenching, infuriating and downright scary!
What does Rosko Lewis bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

After his unspectacular professional baseball career ends with a knee injury in Toledo, Ohio, Johnny Earl gets busted for selling cocaine. After serving seven years in prison, all he wants to do is return to his hometown of Steubenville, retrieve the drug money he stashed before he went to jail, and start a new life where no one has ever heard of Johnny Earl.
However, before he can leave town with his money, Johnny is picked up for questioning in the murder of Rayce Daubner, the FBI informant who had set him up on drug charges in the first place. Then his former prison cellmate shows up - a white supremacist who wants the drug money to help fund an Aryan nation in the wilds of Idaho.
Five memorable characters, each with a separate agenda, come together in this layered tale of murder, deceit, and political intrigue.

A WELCOME MURDER is a terrific, wondrous read
Iâve been waiting for the publication of A WELCOME MURDER for a year. A BRILLIANT DEATH, a coming-of-age tale set in eastern Ohio, was one of my favorite books of 2016 (and was an Edgar Award nominee). While Robin Yocumâs latest work is set in close geographical proximity to that most worthy novel, the characters and tone are quite different. However, his considerable writing chops --- honed from his experience as a newspaper crime reporter --- are sharper than ever. A WELCOME MURDER is a one-sit, all-night read that is wonderfully complex, yet amazingly easy --- and compelling --- to follow.
The narrative alternates among five different five points of view. Francis Roberson is the high sheriff in his birthplace of Jefferson County, Ohio. Fran, as he is known, is an ex-FBI agent who left the agency for the sheriffâs office in the hope of using his efforts to clean up the corrupt department as a springboard to a Congressional seat and beyond. His optimistic ambition is perhaps exceeded only by his wife, Allison, who was working as a secretary at the FBI Training Academy in Quantico, Virginia, while he was there. Little did Allison know when she dated and ultimately married Fran that she would be living in Steubenville, Ohio, the seat of Jefferson County, and working as a sheriffâs dispatcher in her husbandâs department. She wants out of the job and out of Steubenville, and believes the fastest way to do that is to encourage and facilitate Franâs political career.
While Allisonâs husband may be the hometown boy who did well, the supposed heir apparent to that title was Johnny Earl. Johnny was the high school athlete who played several sports and ultimately accepted a pro baseball contract right out of high school. He never looked back until a combination of factors, including a career-ending injury, brought him back to Steubenville and a dead-end life. For Johnny, it was a short step back and a long fall down, from drug addiction to operating his own illegal dealership, if you will. His lucrative, if criminal, business enterprise was brought to an end when he got caught in a Federal drug bust and was sent to prison. After finishing his sentence, he returns to Steubenville, but is totally disgraced and looking over his shoulder as he waits for the shadow of one of his prison cellmates to fall over him.
Meanwhile, Dena Marie Conchek Androski Xenakis, Johnnyâs high school girlfriend, is still around and professes to be in love with him.
