I SO appreciate you guys and I apologize for not having an episode ready for you last week. My marathon brain just couldn't get in the right frame of mind and I had so much to mentally and physically prepare for that I decided to just take the week off. But it's over, I DID IT! I share a little more about this in a future episode that is coming as well as touch on it in this one as an example for something. It's surreal to think it's all over now but I am so glad I kept pursuing it and finished it! Thanks for all the support along the way from you all.
Today's episode comes highly requested from you guys after I saw the results from a poll I posted on my Instagram stories. Which, if you don't follow me on the gram, you should haha. I share so much of life, health, mindset, and gardening in my stories and posts and I love touching the lives of others through that platform. Today we talk about comparison and how it is ultimately the thief of joy. I wasn't planning on talking as long as I did but clearly I had a lot on my heart and God wanted to speak through me. WHY do we keep robbing ourselves of the joy in our life? It is NOT of God. No matter the circumstances in your life you always have the option to choose how you handle them and navigate them.
I recognize there are so many different layers to this topic and it is by no means meant to discount the things that are really out of our control that might be causing you pain and sadness and discontent. I can relate, but we are looing at the WHOLE picture.
We must stay in our own lane and not keep our attention fixed on others and other things. You are cultivating a discontent heart and mind which will impact your day to day living. Stop looking elsewhere, recognize that everyone has to start somewhere in life and you might be catching their happy ending or their success but you have no idea the journey it took for them to get there.
I hope this episode sheds some light into this topic, frees you from this trap, and allows you to begin experiencing JOY again. Joy is of God, he doesn't promise us happiness and an easy life but there can still be joy.
