In today’s episode I wanted to change the narrative around these 30 day transformation traps where people lose a bunch of weight then immediately gain all the weight back after it’s over.
The way to do that is to change your mindset around what getting healthy means and understand it comes from doing a little better each day instead of making mad dashes to quick fixes.
I give some guidance on what doing a little better looks like in a practical application so you can put it into use right away.
Nutrition, movement, sleep, & water are the basics.
I hope this episode brings some clarity around what it actually takes to creat health in your life.

I wanted to make a point this week that while it is necessary to sometimes give yourself a break and do the self care needed to keep operating at a high level, that cannot be an excuse to let things slip and stay in your comfort zone.
We still need to be battle ready because life brings it to you, sometimes when you're the least prepared. So it's easier to just stay ready to deal with adversity.
I also dove into the 4 archetypes of the mature masculine (obviously would apply to females as well!), how they can support us in getting uncomfortable, and the shadow aspects of each.
Lastly I covered why I think we need to bring back rites of passage so we can end this epidemic of soft, coddled, man-children we have in today's society.
I hope you enjoy the episode!

This weeks episode I wanted to give out a little dose of reality in the fake world of the internet and media. It's not all sunshine and rainbows in real life as you know.
Often times we only get the best sides or moods of people when they put out content. I wasn't going to originally share about this but i figured, the show is called Get Uncomfortable for a reason and I need to share this with my Get Uncomfortable family.
I had an emotional breakdown of sorts recently but luckily, somebody is looking out for me and decided to throw some signs my way instead of letting me flounder in turmoil and chaos any longer.
In this episode talked about the events that took place I perceived as signs from above, even if they are totally random, I still found meaning in them and they are helping so that's a win!
Enjoy the episode & let me know if you've ever had any experiences like this in your life!
Talk to you next week! - Shae

If this episode has value please share it out for me with at least one other person in your life! That helps us create a larger impact and hopefully, help more people.
I had a lot of fun with his one and it's something near and dear to my heart because I have had many situations where doubt, fear, or others have stopped me from starting something.
Once you overcome that you learn the power you truly have but you have to START! Failing is part of the learning process and take it in stride.
This is your sign or your permission to start the business, learn the new skill, take that leap you've been holing off on for fear of judgement. You can do it, all you have to do is start.

Today's episode is all about being a lifelong learner in any area of life. Not letting your education end when school did.
I hope this episode helps you remember to keep an open mind and be a lifelong learner vs. shutting down and being stagnant!
The shadow work program I mentioned is Knowing Your Shadow by Robert Augustus Master, PhD.

Today's episode is with Briana Siegert from Crossfit Kinesis and it was a powerhouse episode.
We covered so much; dealing with childhood trauma, substance issues, how she overcame that, skills learned, how she found a path to healing, dealing with her shadow work and inner child, and how she helps people improve their lives by improving their health with exercise & nutrition!
I can't say thank you enough to Bri for coming on the show and sharing her story with me.

I got this idea from a book I've been listening to this week by Russ the recording artist, called, It's All In Your Head.
It made perfect sense when I heard this part of the book and wanted to bring it to all my Get Uncomfortable Listeners.
I hope this episode resonates with you and helps keep you fired up to PLAY THE GAME, not just get points. If it has value please share it out with someone you know to help us have and create more impact in the world.

Today's episode is with one of the best coaches I've had the pleasure of not only watching work, but getting to work with.
Nissa Cohen is Co-Owner of a large gym called CrossFit Kinesis located in Gretna, Nebraska.
Nissa has a knack for human movement and behavior, that's for sure.
She taught me so much about the art of coaching and I still use a plethora of things I learned watching her educate and guide people through workouts.
Thank you so much for coming on the show Nissa!
In this episode we covered a wide range of topics; behavior change when it comes to nutrition & lifestyle change, her journey into entrepreneurship, her thoughts on children's nutrition, the problems with covid policies, and more.
As always, if you found value in this episode please share it with at least one person in your circle. I'm eternally grateful for everyone who does!

Welcome to the first Tuesday Talk (name subject to change ha!)
This one is about a section of a book I'm currently listening to, How to Raise Your Own Salary by Napoleon Hill. This book covers in detail the 17 principles of success laid out by Andrew Carnegie.
A positive mental attitude is something you absolutely have control over, it's within your power to control this with practice. It will change your perception in a multitude of ways that will translate to a higher quality of life.

OH SHIT! Get your pen and paper out for the notes you're gonna want to take while listening to this episode.
As always if you find value in this episode please give it or some of the clips we post a share and leave us a rating & review on Apple podcasts!
Today we have Cory Gregory from Max Effort Muscle, CoryG Fitness, and Old School Gym on the show to give us massive value & insight when it comes to winning at life.
The question I'm referring to in the title is, WHY NOT ME?! When you listen to the episode you'll understand what I'm talking about.
This episode is an ABSOLUTE GOLD MINE for succeeding in life due to Cory's insights and knowledge. I can't say thank you enough to Cory & his team for making this happen!
Here's a list (not exhaustive) of his accomplishments:
Cory went DEEP on this episode about mindset & discipline. How he developed his driving purpose statement and why it's so important to have one, the books he's authored, the value of trial and error, how he developed the infamous lunge & learn protocol, and SO much more.
Be sure to check out the IWANTABZ contest Max Effort Muscle is running right now, first place prize is a fuckin Mercedes Benz!
