  • The one about fierce lady friendships and business partnerships

Networking Women of the Triangle was born in early 2016 when Founder JoNita Cox was in the midst of a job search. She found career networking support for women in the area lacking so with the support of Co-Founder Angie "Gigi" Stephenson, JoNita started a Facebook group on March 16th, 2016. Within the year, it grew to more than 3,000 members. By the launch of this website, during the summer of 2017, the group had well over 6,000 members. NWOTT currently has a supportive community of over 30,000 local members.

The encouragement offered in the Facebook group was palpable and JoNita and Gigi decided that it was time to formally launch the NWOTT website with the help of Rosa Chan Denis, an NWOTT member. This networking group platform enables members to share job leads and company connections so that their fellow members find it easier to walk through the hiring department doors. Local businesses readily and conveniently tap this Triangle-area talent to hire their superior teams.

Networking Women of the Triangle is focused on empowering women in their careers. Mentoring and career enrichment programs and events encourage women to flourish professionally. This power of connection lets members tap into expert advice for resumes, career tracks, occupational options, continuing education, and networking for the economic and professional benefit of all.

The influence of NWOTT is more than just online. The opportunity has spilled off the web page and members can take advantage of live networking events to connect with other professionals to cultivate professional partnerships within a variety of industries. NWOTT is the premier place to connect, support, and inspire other women in the Triangle.

  • Zack Hunt The one about not being an asshole and still being true to your faith

As a teenager in the buckle of the Bible Belt, Zack Hunt was convinced the rapture would happen at any moment. Being ready meant never missing church, never sinning, and always listening to Christian radio. But when the rapture didn't happen, Hunt's tightly wound faith began to fray. If he had been wrong about the rapture, what else about his faith might not hold water?

Part memoir, part tour of the apocalypse, and part call to action, Unraptured traces how the church's focus on escaping to heaven has it mired in decay. Teetering on the brink of irrelevancy in a world rocked by refugee crises, climate change, war, and rumors of war, the church cannot afford to focus on the end times instead of following Jesus in the here and now. Unraptured uses these signs of the times to help readers reorient their understanding of the gospel around loving and caring for the least of these.

We talk about how Zach grew up in the bubble and how he grew in college. Now Zach still finds the way of Jesus as attractive although he feels less excited by many aspects of organized religion.

Fundamentalism is a lot like racism. It's not something you're born with, it is something you're taught.

Zach talks about meeting his wife in college who wasn't afraid to call him on his way of thinking. He also describes meeting with a college professor to talk about his views on theology where he thought his hardline approach would be rewarded his professor challenged him to start with an understanding that we are living in the end times now.

After initially getting angry and rebelling for a couple of years in what Zach calls a pretty typical rebellion for a Christian kid (trying alcohol, listening to rock music, and getting a tattoo) he began to understand what his professor was saying. Zach felt that when you look at the Bible and need to interpret it you should begin from the standpoint of love and not fear. If your interpretation doesn't cause you to love God and your neighbor then your interpretation is wrong.

You can follow Zack on social and check out his book on Amazon.

  • The one where Arjan was kidnapped and held prisoner by Islamic Rebels for almost two years

For 15 years, through speaking, workshops, and coaching Arjan inspired thousands of people with his message about freedom and taking ownership of your own life.

Next to that Arjan is also a Co-Founder of Free a Girl.  A foundation that is dedicated to freeing young girls from forced prostitution. Since 2008 they have freed and given a second chance to more than 4,750 girls globally.

Because of his ordeal, it became Arjan's mission to assist people in their quest for freedom, to live in a world without fear, surrounded by protection.

When Arjan heard about the problem of child prostitution in 2007 it touched him deeply. I recognized the injustice, the despair, and misery the young girls had to live through, partly from his own experience. It became one of his missions to fight for their freedom.

We talk about how he was kidnapped. The feelings of guilt that his fiance felt as he was kidnapped in front of her house. How he had guns held to his head in the car and forced to answer questions on the way to his new prison, a hole in the ground that was barely tall enough for him to stand.

Arjan shares about some of the low points in his almost two-year imprisonment from bare-knuckle fighting a guard, finding a gun that was left behind in the shower one day, a standoff with a captor about not removing his mask.

Finally, Arjan was rescued, he became a media sensation, he was reunited with his family, his fiance and now they are married with three kids. Almost 17 years after his kidnapping he is running an organization called Free a Girl where he continues to fight for freedom and second chances for those who are kidnapped and placed into sex trafficking.

Free a Girl was founded in 2008, based on the vision that every child has the right to grow up in a safe environment. All children around the world must be protected against every form of commercial sexual exploitation.

  • The one with the English Hypnotist

While under hypnosis during past life regressions, Claudia talks about some of the interesting characters she has run into from a woman who was a monk to a grump cornish man.

We talk about blast sessions, which is like a subconscious exorcism. How they help people release things that are troubling them. Even for people who have a hard time getting into deeper relaxation, Claudia is wonderful at helping.

She shares her story of how she came to the United States and had to return to Europe, only to long to return to the States one day.

They purchased a business outright to expedite the visa process. Then started networking where she met Jenny.

We spoke with Claudia about hypnotherapy, how she got into the profession, and more details about what hypnotherapy can look like for most people.

The Blast is created by Nick Davies and is short for bilateral analysis stimulation treatment or technique. It works by taking that thing that has been going on for weeks and weeks and helps them deal with it and take it from a 10 to gradually into a 1,2, or 3.

Claudia shares some of her favorite clients and how it was very rewarding to be able to help them.

"There's never a fail, there is only ever learning." ~Claudia Rickard

She had one client who came in petrified of dogs and after one session she bought a puppy!

You can find out more about Claudia on her Facebook Page and Google.

  • The one where Josh was late

Josh showed up late wearing full motorcycle gear, including leather pants. That took a minute to get used to...

We discussed how exciting it is that businesses are starting to open back up and how it feels a little strange for those fully vaccinated, half-vaxed, or not vaccinated with the differences in rules for each group.

We've been in four different studios since we have launched our shows, and we take a stroll down memory lane.

We discuss the importance of networking when you are just starting. It is not "luck" but work that has a compounding effect if you do it consistently over time. Having tried many types of networking groups between us, we break down some of the strengths and weaknesses of networking groups but highlight the importance of finding "your people." You may need to shop around to find the right people over the right system.

Sarah shares insights into growing your business and your team and taking the leap to hire your first employee. Many feel that they need to have the money saved up, but you may need the team member to save the money.

We talk about the different types of environments that work well for productivity. Each person is different. Some may get more done at an office, others at home, but the common denominator is building in time for transitions. How well do you transition from your workday to personal time?
