The Brookings Cafeteria

Globalization and the 2016 presidential election

Listen Later

Homi Kharas, deputy director in the Global Economy and Development program and one of the authors of Brookings's new "11 Global Debates" series, examines how issues of globalization are playing out in the 2016 presidential election. Also in this episode, John Hudak, deputy director of the Center for Effective Public Management and a senior fellow in Governance Studies, provides an update on the presidential and down-ballot races. Finally, Jon Valant, fellow in Governance Studies and the Brown Center on Education Policy, explains what inspired him to become a scholar of education policy and why he thinks education policy builds the foundation that solves many social problems. Thanks to audio producer Gaston Reboredo and producer Vanessa Sauter, and also thanks for additional support from Eric Abalahin, Jessica Pavone, Nawal Atallah, Basseem Maleki, and Rebecca Viser.
