Marcus and I have been trading messages for awhile to connect over the podcast, but it is hard to do when he is either always behind an excavator, handlebars, or just on a trail in general. That is why we brought the podcast to his excavator literally. Marcus is the recreational trail director for Anniston, Alabama, but most just know him as "The Trail Guru". The dude has been around the MTB scene a long while and a staple in the Alabama/Southeast riding community. Kris reached out to me awhile back as a fan of the podcast and wanted to ride together. I am glad I took him up on it because I made a good friend, riding buddy and learned a new way to ride my local trail. Really enjoyed have Kris on this podcast because we can both relate a lot to where each other are at in life, family, work, etc. and this episode takes turns in a lot of different directions. David Chaney who you might remember from Martha's Coffee and past Gnar Gnomies episodes is back with his latest venture Trail Scouts MTB. This new organization is bringing families together by sharing time on the trail. Something I particularly find interesting being a Dad of two. We discuss how too much of sport is all about competition and race and few orgs are designed to get kids and family into adventure. Been dying to get Josh on the podcast for awhile now and the stars finally aligned at the new year. He has an interesting story starting out in fitness, then becoming a professional firefighter, to then moving to the mountains to start a mountain bike shop. Erin started at the young age of 10 on a MTB and gravitated straight to the Big Creek Freeride area. She quickly went on to race some of the gnarliest downhill races in the country from 11 years old to now.
