Have you ever looked in the mirror and before you even realize it, you're picking yourself apart? If we know what God says, why do we keep having thoughts that lie to us? What if we could learn to hit pause, zoom out, and spot the lie underneath the thought before we let it take control? In this episode of the Go to God First podcast with Kim Dolan Leto, I'm talking with Susie Mendoza about how to recognize negative thoughts, uncover the lie underneath them, and agree with God's truth instead. Susie shares a simple three-step practice. In This Episode How to recognize the lie hiding underneath a negative thought Susie's three simple steps. How to use a Mirror Moment to catch insecurity and replace the lie with your identity in Christ Why agreeing with God's truth is different from positive thinking, affirmations, and manifestation How to turn routines you're already doing into opportunities to apply God's Word Get Susie's Free Application & Truth Guide Don't just listen to this episode. Put it into practice. Susie created Application & Truth: A Simple Daily Practice to help you anchor God's Word to routines you already have. If you've ever thought, "What is happening to my body, and why don't I feel like myself anymore?" this episode is for you. Maybe you're gaining weight even though you haven't changed what you're doing. You're exhausted but can't sleep. Your anxiety feels different. Your brain feels foggy. And maybe you've gone to the doctor looking for answers only to hear, "Your labs are normal." Today, I'm sitting down with Dr. Tabatha Barber, The Gutsy Gynecologist, for the conversation I wish more Christian women were having about perimenopause, menopause, hormones, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), GLP-1s, sleep, weight gain, and advocating for your health. We're also talking about how to seek answers and wise medical care while continuing to trust God with our bodies and our lives. In This Episode: ✦ Why hormonal changes can affect mood, sleep, brain fog, weight, and energy ✦ What women should understand about HRT and different treatment options ✦ Why "normal" labs may not tell the whole story ✦ How to find a knowledgeable provider and advocate for yourself ✦ What to know about compounded medications and GLP-1 safety ✦ Why sleep and nervous-system regulation matter in midlife ✦ How to take your thoughts captive and renew your mind ✦ Why trusting God and seeking wise medical care belong together One of the things I hope you take away from this conversation is to be proactive about your health. We can trust God and ask questions. We can pray and get the labs. We can have faith and seek wise medical care. We can care for our bodies without making our bodies our idols. Go to God first. Get wisdom. Ask questions. Advocate for yourself. And take the next right step. About Dr. Tabatha Barber Dr. Tabatha Barber is a triple board-certified physician in obstetrics and gynecology, menopause, and functional medicine. Are you tired of saying everything is okay when it's not? Are you showing up, doing what needs to be done, but crumbling inside? Friend, I've been there. I recently went through something traumatic that shook me deeply, and I realized I couldn't just keep pushing through. My "suck it up" broke. And maybe it needed to. In this very personal episode of Living God's Way, I'm sharing why I changed my mind about hormones and what God is teaching me about what it really means to be strong. Because strength isn't about proving how much you can handle. Strength is knowing where your strength comes from. In This Episode Why I changed my mind about hormone replacement therapy after six years The comment on my gym selfie that makes me laugh now How a difficult season affected my sleep and changed my perspective Why Gen X women may need to rethink the "suck it up" mentality The difference between worldly strength, self-reliance, and godly strength What I'm learning about estrogen, progesterone, menopause, and HRT Why lifting weights and maintaining muscle matter as we age The importance of protein, whole foods, sleep, and caring for your body Why asking for help and advocating for your health are not signs of weakness What God is teaching me about depending on Him when I don't feel strong Important: I'm sharing my personal experience, not giving medical advice. Hormone therapy has benefits and risks that vary by individual. Please talk with a qualified healthcare professional about your symptoms, health history, and whether HRT or other treatment options may be appropriate for you. And stay tuned because I'll also be talking with Dr. Tabatha Barber about menopause and hormones so we can go deeper into the medical side of this conversation.
