It's been a little over a week since the White Sox season came to a disappointing conclusion. Despite the lack of actual baseball games being played, there have been no shortage of rumors, hypotheticals, trade scenarios and free agent wish lists floating around to fill the void that the White Sox left. We explore some theories and bat around some ideas while also remembering that Jerry Reinsdorf owns the White Sox. Hope is a good thing, it may be the best of the things. Go Sox.
After an intense and emotional Game 3 win at home, the Sox fell completely flat in Game 4 and were bounced from the ALDS. Houston seemed to take advantage of every single gift the White Sox presented. Out managed? Possibly. Out played? Definitely. Aside from Game 3, the Sox were lifeless offensively and did not put a consistent pitching performance together. There were some bright spots during this series and many positive moments from the 2021 season that can be built upon in the offseason. We expected more from this White Sox team but for now, we must wait.
The White Sox lost the first two ALDS games in Houston. The Sox looked underprepared, made mistakes and did not execute when necessary. The Sox hit zero extra base hits in the first two games and Houston took advantage of seemingly every opportunity. The series now shifts to the South Side. The White Sox have been a force at home and have the fire power to send the series back to Houston. This can't be the end, can it?
The Chicago White Sox finished the season with 93 wins and 69 losses. It's the first time the Sox have hit the 90 win mark since 2006. The focus now officially shifts to Soxtober and the Houston Astros. The Sox will open up the ALDS in Houston then come back to Chicago for Game 3 and potentially Game 4. Who gets the ball for the Sox in Game 1? Where is Leury Garcia playing and how does Gavin Sheets fit in? 93 wins is a pretty damn good season but the Sox are looking for 11 more. Go Sox!
The Chicago White Sox have won the AL Central for the first time since 2008. Now what? Home field advantage for the first round is a bit of a long shot but not out of the question. What do the Sox need to do to get playoff ready? Cleaning up the defense and hitting with runners in scoring position is a start. Is Giolito the Game 1 ALDS starter or is Lynn? What if Rodon is at full strength? Lots of questions to still answer with only six more games on the regular season schedule. Soxtober is almost here.
After a very poor showing in Detroit, the White Sox head to Cleveland with hopes of winning their first AL Central crown in 13 years. It's been quite the journey and quite the season. Ozzie Guillen Jr. joins our conversation to talk all things White Sox. TLR, injuries, pitching matchups, bullpen usage, playoffs, momentum and the hope that his father's number 13 will be retired sooner rather than later. Soxtober is on the horizon. It's a good time to be a Sox fan.
After taking 2 of 3 from the Rangers, the White Sox inch closer to clinching their first division title since 2008. We were joined by Herb Lawrence of 670 The Score & The Locked on White Sox podcast to talk all things Sox. Is home field advantage in the ALDS a must have for the Sox? Who gets the ball Game 1? How much rest is too much rest for TA? And so much more. Give us a listen & subscribe. We are a local, fan-centric Chicago White Sox podcast. Go Sox!
The White Sox turned in a lifeless effort this afternoon and lose 2 of 3 against the Angels. The Magic Number to clinch the AL Central sits at 7 games as the Sox embark on an 11 game road trip before returning home for the last 3 games of the regular season. As the Sox head to Texas to battle the lonely Rangers, we hope for some consistency... and runs, lots of runs. Go Sox.
The White Sox take 2 of 3 from Boston in dramatic fashion. The Legend, Leury Garcia, hit his first career walk off home run to get the Magic Number down to 9. There was a playoff atmosphere all weekend long on the South Side. Large crowds and intense moments. Rodon and Lynn have returned with Giolito and TA set to come back this week against the Angels. The Sox are just about at full strength once again, hoping to grab home field advantage for the first round. Go Sox!
The White Sox drop 2 of 3 in Oakland, but what's new? There's good news however on the injury front. Rodon, Lynn and Gio are expected to be back in action as the Red Sox and Angels come to town. Future Sox and South Side Sox contributor, James Fox, joins us to talk about his recent article on the re-energized White Sox fan base in the South and Southwest suburbs. It's a good time to be a Sox fan and the more, the merrier. Listen, subscribe, and Go Sox!
