From Nova Scotia, Canada, Gordie started as a producer and singer-songwriter. Within a year of moving to Nashville, Gordie wrote a song you might have heard before... And that song is “Jesus Take the Wheel” by Carrie Underwood. You’re going to hear the full story behind that one and a couple others including “Knockin Boots” by Luke Bryan and “My Favorite Picture of You” a cut he has for Willie Nelson. Gordie also has cuts for Keith Urban, Faith Hill, LeAnn Rimes, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, and many more. Gordie also talks about writing with his camp of co-writers, building up the newer songwriters, and finding ways to give back.
