One of my favorite things to talk about, besides gratitude, is connection.
Real, genuine connection between human beings.
Not your Facebook friends that you don't know, mind you.
But people you actually know, or want to get to know.
And I've learned one powerful way to have deeper connections with someone is through meaningful conversations.
One way to have a more meaningful conversation is to ask good questions.
"How are you?" doesn't really lead to a deep conversation.
It usually leads to "fine, how are you?"
Asking good open ended questions, ones that spark a lot of thought, can really allow you to get to know someone better.
And that was my goal with the grateful? game - to ask questions that start conversations that matter, while helping you remember the good in your life.
Here are 3 of my favorites from the game:
-What basic needs do you always have met, and don't have to worry about, that not everyone has?
- How does it make you feel to know that some kids go hungry? What can you do about it?
- If you could put an end to one problem in this world, what would it be and why?
So next time you're wanting to have a deeper connection with someone, really think about the questions you ask them.
Or you can just play the grateful? game!
