  • Interview: Kyle Neeley (Guitar/Vocals) & Paul Christiansen (Drums/Vocals) of Pathos & Logos
Alternative, and progressive metal power-duo (guitarist Kyle Neeley and drummer Paul Christiansen), Pathos & Logos are back with a brand-new single called ‘Let Me Go’, due to be released on February 14th, 2025. The single features two alternate versions (Hunter’s Moon Version and an Instrumental Version) and is the first taste of the band’s new release, ‘Gospel’.
‘Gospel’ will be released on June 20th, 2025, and is the much anticipated follow up to the power duo’s acclaimed 2022 EP of instrumentals, ‘Cult’.
Mixed by Kyle Neeley (The Black Dahlia Murder, In This Moment) and mastered by Ryan Williams (Slayer, Kardishev), ‘Gospel’ is a landmark album for the duo. It is the first Pathos & Logos release to feature vocals! Both members taking turns singing darkly introspective lyrics that will satisfy fans of Stephen King as much it will fans of Spiritbox.
This is just one aspect of the evolved Pathos & Logos that we discuss in this hour-long interview with guitarist/vocalist Kyle Neeley and drummer/vocalist Paul Christiansen. We also get the details about Gospel, the journey that the duo have been on over the past few years, what this new direction means to them, and so much more.

  • Interview: Anja (Vocals/Guitars/Songwriter) of A.N.J.A.
Belfast-based horror garage punk band A.N.J.A., known for their explosive live performances and unapologetically raw sound, has released their newest single, ‘When You’re The Worst You’re The Best’, just in time for a rebellious Valentine’s Day celebration.
The track, a fiery and unapologetic anthem of fearless rebellion, dives into love’s darker, wilder side. Featuring groovy garage riffs, nonchalant yet volcanic vocals, and provocative lyrics. It’s both a celebration of chaotic passion and a call to embrace glorious debauchery. This track cements A.N.J.A.’s status as one of the most dynamic punk acts in the Irish scene.
We spoke to Anja, the vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter of the band, about the new single and how it came about. Delving into the sexy and seedy side of its inspiration, while also learning more about the history of A.N.J.A. as a whole. We also talk about the Irish scene, being a DIY band, the live experience and why it matters, and so much more.

  • Interview: A|V (Vocals) of Abduction
UK extreme metallers Abduction will release their highly anticipated new album, Existentialismus, on 21st February 2025, via Candlelight.
Following their explosive 2022 album, ‘Black Blood’, which showcased the band's fiercely expansive sound, Abduction are now poised to push their musical boundaries even further. On the face of it, Existentialismus is actually a return to more stripped-down mechanics, and yet it is arguably the band’s most electrifying, emotionally complex and personal recording to date.
Extreme music has never sounded so appealing as it does on this new Abduction record. A band synonymous with bleak and black brutality, they continue to push the boundaries of metal with Existentialismus. Not only finding deeper and darker depths to explore but showcasing a more introspective soundscape. This is Abduction at their most personal, stripped back in grisly style, but retaining all the fire and fury that long term fans have come to expect.
We spoke to vocalist and founder A|V, finding out a bit more about the new release and how it has come about. Delving into some of the themes and feelings behind the record, how pivotal a moment this is Abduction, working as more cohesive unit, and so much more.

  • Interview: Kristen Sturgis (Guitar) of Conquer Divide
Conquer Divide have just revealed their latest single, ‘Bad Dreams’ featuring Michigan metalcore heroes Of Virtue. The single comes ahead of their U.K. and European tour dates with Ankor from February 7th to March 16th. This, following their late January UK tour with New Years Day.
The song combines Conquer Divide’s ability to mix luscious and captivating vocals and hooks with their crushing intensity, both musically and lyrically, on this introspective slab of inner turmoil, which is complemented by Of Virtue’s vocalists Tyler Ennis and Damon Tate’s melodic turned raging contributions.
A Deluxe Edition of their most recent album ‘Slow Burn’ was released digitally on September 27th and featured an additional six recordings.
About Slow Burn, we described it as:
A statement making album, Conquer Divide are eyeing up big things in their future and have one hell of an album that will help push them upwards. Slow Burn is a brash and vibrant showcase of modern anthemic sounds, oozing relatable honesty and passion from beginning to end. The band doing a good job of blending chaotic dynamism and animated melody across its twelve tracks.

  • Interview: Paul Visser (Vocals/Guitar) of Black Orchid Empire
When Black Orchid Empire have new music, we all pay attention. They create huge, memorable rock music that combines heavy-hitting savagery with intense melodic beauty. Their technical, fearlessly complex grooves and gigantic sing-along choruses have already earned them a widespread fanbase.
It’s not just on record though either, as they are a ferociously tight live band. Having toured Europe and the UK extensively, supporting Skunk Anansie, HED P.E, INME, Cellar Darling and Black Map as well as festival slots at Download, Standon Calling, Tech Fest, Teddy Rocks and Planet Rockstock.
Following on from album releases with Long Branch Records and Season of Mist, the band have now sign with a brand-new label and have released the song ‘Angelfire’, the first single from their upcoming album. The single release also comes ahead of their highly anticipated Spring UK tour.
We spoke to guitarist and vocalist, Paul about the new single. Not just delving into the creative process but finding out more about the band’s long-term plans and why it is so exciting. We also talk about how Black Orchid Empire have got to this point in time, the work that goes into creating something, being so ‘hands on’, and so much more.

  • Interview: Oli (Vocals) and Mikey (Guitar) of TheCityIsOurs
TheCityIsOurs, the 5-piece pop/metal dynamo from London, amplify their already rising trajectory with their highly anticipated third album, ‘Will You Still Love Me’, out 31st January 2025.
An unstoppable force with a ton of momentum behind them, it’s TheCityIsOurs, and Will You Still Love Me is going to be another huge release for them. While not a million miles away from what they’ve done before, here, it’s so much more refined. You can really tell they understand their sound and how to get the best out of it, especially when pop and metal are such opposing forces. Yet, when done well, they fit together so nicely and TheCityIsOurs are doing it nicely indeed.

We spoke to guitarist Mikey and vocalist Oli about the new record and the work that has gone into it. The journey to this point has been a long and winding road with a lot of stops on the way, and we also discuss with the band just how much of a defining experience it has been for them. • Interview: Björn Strid (Vocals) of The Night Flight Orchestra
Acclaimed Swedish rockers The Night Flight Orchestra released their seventh studio album and Napalm Records debut, ‘Give Us the Moon’, on January 31st, 2025.
The 13-track album takes the listener on an exciting sonic journey, balancing between uplifting escapism and captivating stories inspired by real life events. The album's themes span the likes of heroines and temptresses to liberation and romantic nostalgia, set to backdrops of abandoned cities and cosmic tides.
Fans are going to love this, and likely crow about it as loudly as ever, rightfully so. However, critics won’t find much to change their minds. It’s The Night Flight Orchestra and having fun is still the name of the game.

In the liminal space where dreams flirt with reality and light dissolves into shadow, Acid Magus, Pretoria’s own experimental rock mavericks, emerge with ‘Scatterling Empire’, a monumental ode to defiance, culture, and the unrelenting spirit of resistance. Set to release on February 21st, 2025 via Mongrel Records, the album is an intricate tapestry of sound, philosophy, and storytelling—a psychedelic journey through the fragmented pieces of history and humanity.
