Statistics show that the more money you earn, the less you tend to give (percentage-wise). In other words, the worst givers are the ones who make the most. Shouldn’t it be the opposite? Shouldn’t we who have more, give more? In 1 Timothy 6, the Apostle Paul tells Timothy what he should say to to the rich people — “Charge them to be generous and ready to share.” In the third week of the series, Pastor Jake talks about what it means to be a rich giver.

The world wants you to serve money, but money promises only what God can provide. If you love and trust in money, you will never have enough. "Better is a little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble with it" (Proverbs 15:16). Are you putting your trust in riches, or the Lord of the universe?

This week, we continue our RE series by talking about another significant word found throughout the Scriptures: Renew. It’s a fact of life — things wear out. Whether jeans, cars, houses, or ink pens, they get old and stop working. No problem, right? We can just replace them with newer versions! But what do we do when we start wearing out? What do we do when we start feeling exhausted and rundown spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically? Most of us start getting new stuff…anything to make us feel “new” on the inside. Or we take a vacation, read a book, veg on the couch. We try to renew ourselves, but it doesn’t work. If you want to be renewed, there’s only one way for that to happen: Go to God! He is the only source of Renewal. Listen to this message to hear how to go to God for the renewal you so desperately need.

This week, Pastor Jake starts a new series entitled “RE”. In it, we will look at 4 “re” words: Remember, Repent, Renew, and Remain. The first is Remember. All over the Old Testament, we see God instructing His people to set up monuments, build altars, observe festivals, and more all with one purpose: to remember. And it’s not just in the Old Testament. Jesus with His last few moments with His disciples before He died chose to say “Don’t forget Me!” by instituting the Lord’s Supper (Communion). It’s important that we remember…but why? And what it is that we should remember? May the Lord help you remember His faithfulness from the past so that you can trust Him in the present and follow Him in the future!
