Your daily dose of calm. Unpolished and unscripted but no ads and no requests for anything but your company. Trying to make the world a gentler place with literature, history and nature. Please don’t expect to find a polished product. The output is lower tier but the authenticity is hopefully as good as it gets. 🦔

Good evening, sorry a super-late episode today. After dedicating a whole episode to the delightful P Mould yesterday, I wanted to catch up on all our readings. I know we’ve taken on a lot, but it means there is hopefully something there for you. It’s all jolly ad hoc but I can’t think of anything worse than a fixed recording routine.
Thank you to my lovely new subscriber Alison. It means the WORLD to me. So kind. 🙋♀️🌷
Rest well and see you tomorrow x

Dear friends, thank you for your company and support. Nothing is asked of you with this half-baked endeavour than your company. Be patient with me regarding the amateur production and please don’t rate me with a one or two, though think it you might.
I share with you this evening Dorset sounds, Hardy’s words, Mr Katt’s mischief, Janina Ramirez’s writings on St Gregory, Jerome K Jerome’s Three Men in a Boat (and Montmorency of course), Samuel Pepys and the mystery of Thomas Becket’s bones. And lots of rain with a little choral music in the background. Come join me in my warm, candle-lit shelter. 🦔

About Gretel le Maître Ponders
From the publisher's feed
Gretel le Maître likes to look for the beauty and curiosities. She shares with you passages from books about history, art and literature and regularly takes you on adventures to new…
locations, to explore churches, cathedrals and architecture.
Gretel invites you to accompany her as she navigates the world a day at a time; the podcast is unscripted, it’s ad-free. It was started to help cope with the imminent death of her mother, and has continued after the grief sadly started in February of 2024. It was a path of solace and remains a path of solace, peace and kindness.
Gretel: ‘while looking outwards and finding the beauty in the world to observe and appreciate, it allows the loose ends within us to knit together. Wounds are soothed and - with an honest and open heart - shame, sorrow and despair can be lifted. There is a whole world out there, including our past, which is fascinating’.
Gretel loves the world and history, architecture, literature and people. And so is determined to walk this path with light footsteps and with humour and warmth: ‘Let’s gather up the beautiful things and ponder them in our hearts’.
