The mission statement of Helping Parents Heal is: Sharing the Journey from Bereaved to Shining Light Parent. Conrad and Paolo Leslie embody this journey. Their beautiful only son Nicolas was murdered by a terrorist in Nice, France on July 14, 2016. 

Conrad and Paola were obviously devastated by Nicholas' passing. Conrad is an accomplished engineer and business owner. He has taken a no-nonsense approach to finding his way since Nicolas' passing. Paola has taken a different approach, including being heavily involved with Helping Parents Heal. I've known the Leslies, mainly Paola for a few years.

In this interview, Conrad opens up about the difficulty of the journey but also the beauty he has found along the way. He shares the incredible signs he and Paola have received from Nicolas, who remains active in their lives. We talk about forgiveness and how it's a process, not an act. 

It was refreshing to talk with a father about his perspective, as Helping Parents Heals consists mainly of mothers.

Marion Dampier-Jeans is a fascinating woman living in England. She hahas Norwegian roots and has studied the "old ways" going back to shamanism in several cultures that we in America don't normally associate with shamanism. 

Marion is one of the few people who sat with Leslie Flint on a regular basis. Leslie Flint was, during his time, the most accomplished and tested physical medium in the world. In case you don't know what physical mediumship is, it's where the departed can make themselves seen and heard objectively in the room for everyone in the room to see, hear or touch.

Physical mediumship has normally been done in the dark. Today's physical mediums, like Marion, are bringing these phenomena into the light (literally).

A common problem I run into with the clients I work with is they feel guilty about the passing of a loved one. There may be circumstances where some guilt can be rationalized. (We can talk about that at another time). I'm talking about guilt over things beyond our control, guilt about things that we couldn't possibly have known or prevented if we had known.

Lynn Russell set out to do some work for Dr. Jeffrey Long, the creator of the NDERF.org database, the world's largest collection of near-death experiences. Lynn was analyzing the data for Dr. Long and became inspired to write a book that went beyond the raw data into the lessons of the Near-Death Experience.

During the interview, I found out Lynn has a secret. She has had an NDE herself. I got her to tell me about it.

Lynn has led a rich life. Lynn has been an armchair student of science for about forty-five years. She was a family counselor for around thirty years. She has twenty-five years of giving workshops and talks. She has spent a lifetime researching and learning about the various religions and spiritual philosophies around the world. Lynn was assessed as mentally slow as a child and didn’t find out until she was 31 that she was above average in intelligence. Since then it has been upward and onward.

Her book "The Wonder of You: What the Near Death Experience Tells You About Yourself" is available on Amazon. The second edition will release at about the time this interview is published.

In this eye-opening and maybe controversial conversation, I sit down with accomplished filmmaker, speaker, and author, Jeremiah Camara to discuss his films: Contradiction: A Question of Faith and Holy Hierarchy: The Religious Roots of Racism in America. My good friend, Dr. Terri Daniel, a chaplain, grief counselor, and theology scholar, joins us.

Jeremiah Camara is the director and producer of the documentary film Contradiction: A Question of Faith, which examines the saturation of churches in African American communities coexisting with poverty and powerlessness. Contradiction can be viewed on Amazon Prime Video. Camara is the author of the books Holy Lockdown: Does The Church Limit Black Progress? and The New Doubting Thomas: The Bible, Black Folks & Blind Belief.

Camara is also the creator of the widely watched YouTube video series Slave Sermons… a mini-movie series addressing the harmful effects of religion.

His latest and upcoming documentary project is titled, Holy Hierarchy: The Religious Roots of Racism in America. Holy Hierarchy… explains how the presumptions of a Supreme Being in colonial America led to precepts and beliefs in supreme human beings and how these beliefs morphed their way into the legal system and ultimately turned racism into an institution.
