We have some Sunday afternoon hoops today as the Grizzlies take on the Washington Wizards at the FedExForum. The Wizards will be without their top scorer and best player Bradley Beal, who has entered health and safety protocol. This is a prime spot for Memphis to get caught sleeping and drop a game, so Taylor Jenkins will be focused on keeping the energy high and end the weekend with a win. Lines discussed in this episode include:

Grizzlies -9.5

O/U 224.5

Steven Adams O/U 9.5 rebounds

Kuzma O/U 18.5 points

Grizzlies/Grizzlies (1st quarter/ML)

All odds from DraftKings Sportsbook, the official sportsbook partner of SB Nation.

The Grizzlies are back in the FedEx Forum tonight with a healthy roster to face a struggling Hornets team that is missing their franchise player. Friday night on Beale Street should bring a lot of energy into the building, and the Grizzlies will need it in order to cover the 11 point spread the game is listed at. Some of the other bets we will discuss in this episode are:

O/U 227

Bane PRA O/U 29.5

Ja Morant first basket

Dillon Brooks O/U 15.5 points

Race to 10

Bane O/U 3.5 three pointers

All odds from DraftKings Sportsbook, the official sportsbook partner of SB Nation.

The Grizzlies continue in their West Coast road trip in Portland tonight to take on another surprise in the NBA this season, the 5-1 Trail Blazers. Damian Lillard is out for the game tonight, so it will be rising star Anfernee Simons leading the charge against Ja Morant and supporting cast. The injury report continues to stack up for the Grizzlies who listed Steven Adams as questionable to go along with Bane and LaRavia. Some of the bets we discuss for the game tonight are:

Grizzlies -4.5

O/U 226.5

Ja Morant O/U 29.5 points

Dillon Brooks O/U 2.5 threes

Anfernee Simons O/U 5.5 threes

Jusuf Nurkic O/U 15.5 points

The Grizzlies head right back to Vivint Arena tonight to play the Jazz for the second time in three days. They head to the game with a great deal of uncertainty as Ja Morant and Desmond Bane are both listed as game time decisions. With the status of the stars, there is a small number of bets currently on the board, so we had to dig deep to find some plays for the time being. We discuss:

Grizzlies -2

O/U 230

Mike Conley O/U 1.5 threes

Utah Jazz first quarter ML

Utah Jazz O/U total points

All odds from DraftKings Sportsbook, the official sportsbook partner of SB Nation.

It was an action-packed week of Memphis Grizzlies basketball. Two great wins against Brooklyn and Sacramento had Memphis trending in the right direction but dropping their first game in Utah without Ja Morant was a small setback.

Speaking of not having players: Zaire Williams is likely to miss an entire month of the season. Xavier looks at who has stepped in his place so far this season and what he can bring to the team once he does return. His shooting and perimeter defense should give Memphis a boost to their thinning wing rotation.

In Hot and Cold, the guys discuss what's been working in Memphis and what has held them back. Dave and Xavier are concerned about the defense so far this season, something that the Grizzlies have historically hung their hat on. But, missing key defensive contributors could be a leading factor. Matt looks at the Ja and Tyus Jones lineups and likes the way the two point guards have complimented each other.

The Core 4 gives out their weekly awards. Dave believes Grizzlies fans need to pump the breaks on the praise of Santi Aldama. Aldama has had some offensive flashes but leaves a lot to be desired defensively especially when you factor in what Jaren Jackson Jr. hopes to provide at that position down the road. Tyus Jones adds another award to his trophy case and Desmond Bane receives some praise for his incredible scoring stretch.

To close out the show it's accountability time and the guys review their worst takes so far on the season. Matt has cooled on Taylor Jenkins for coach of the year due to the stagnant nature of the Grizzlies' offense. Xavier and Dave look at some of the bottom teams in the NBA for where they went wrong this season.

The second game of the West Coast road trip takes the Grizzlies to Utah to start a quick two game series. The Jazz have been almost too good for their own liking up to this point - starting the season with a 4-2 record. Early reports see Ja Morant sitting out in the game tonight due to illness, so the Grizzlies need to find their form from last year in which the team went 20-5 in their All Stars absence. Some of the bets discussed in this episode include:

Grizzlies -4

O/U 231.5

Desmond Bane first basket

Race to 20 - 1st Quarter

Grizzlies team total O/U 115.5

All odds from DraftKings Sportsbook, the official sportsbook partner of SB Nation.
