The final episode of the year. In this one the GDM guys look back at all the stuff WotC has released over the past year and take a few quick hits at the product. What was good, what was bad, and what made the guys Grumpy. GDM Jay, lacking on a better idea, decided to make a list of things that do need a table top game and things that don’t need a table top game. It’s the ghost of Christmas grumpy episode! Or should it be winter festival? I suppose it could be a whole lot of different things in your campaigns. But, this week it’s the grumpy kind where the GDM guys complain about things. Mostly it’s GDM Jay grumping about the newest broken spell in Strixhaven. GDM Christopher however has a more mild tone about it. Two GDM’s enter, one GDM leaves! You decide! GDM Christopher is not to be left out of the grumpiness however. He is pretty upset at how the Owlin (Owlkin) are treated in the Strixhaven book. It’s fairly rare where both guys have something different to complain about in a new book. Christmas must have arrived early!

Cr’aig here. I’m back at work this week and I did a good job! So good indeed that the guys didn’t even call me out during the intro! It’s another episode of the guys being all over the place with discussions. It’s like herding field mice. They ended up having a really good discussion about attuning to items, other ideas on how to use it, and the all pervasive idea of should it exist. They also talked about intentionally nerfing your character, because it’s what they would do. This seems like a bad idea when a Green Dragons trying to kill you, but what do I know? Lastly there was also mention of Street Fighter and GDM Christopher used an item GDM Jay talked about!

GDM Jay here. Craig decided to be useless this week so I’m filling in. Myself and GDM Christopher had a bit of fun today talking about things we love. Unfortunately Craig decided he couldn’t be bothered to record it, so you get less fun topics. These included boring things such as bringing back a good bad guy after they died, raising monsters and fortresses, and a new best common magic item. We also discuss our ability to think of everything in terms of D&D and how some guy manages to run a tabletop game for 16 people without dying.

The boyos are all over the map on this one. GDM Jay seems to really have a strange infatuation with infantile magic items and the ridiculousness of them. I guess that’s good for the podcast, but probably bad for his campaign. Oh well. At least I’m not going to be the one being given a Pole of Monster Fishing or a Hat of Hairlessness. (Look these up. They are real items). On the side of the more balanced GDM we have GDM Christopher….who only almost wiped another party on stream again. Sometimes I fear for my safety editing these podcasts. How did we end up here talking about a puffin that looks like the Punisher? Even I don’t remember. That’s likely because there were so many things talked about on the podcast this week. GDM Jay didn’t even want to talk about the new kickstarter he got. Level Up Advanced 5E seems to have so much depth it would be impossible to cover in a single podcast, so the guys just discussed a single part of it. They also chatted about Glidesky roost lore dump and candy making for the Sword Coast. Apparently it call comes from a single farm of candy animals. Seems inhumane to me! Where’s PETA when you need them?
