On the back of last weeks episode Grumpy DM Christopher recounts an event that occurred in his last Rime of the Frostmaiden campaign in which he had to improv a situation that completely altered the fate of Icewind Dale. (So, there are some spoilers concerning that campaign in the first 5 minutes) This led to Grumpy DM Jay to talk about the types of actions/players he dislikes. Campaign de-railing decisions being one of them. But every DM is different. Some strive to have things progress a certain way. While others foster an environment where any type of action is encouraged. So, they go into the topic of types of players they do not want at the table. The discussion will surprise you, but ultimately know this, it is the DMs job to foster the type of environment that takes place at the table. If you are not having fun at the table, talk to your DM. If you the DM is not having fun, talk to your players. Tabletop is a team game and needs communication.
To be clear DM Christopher’s players, amazing; what they did, phenomenal; the campaign, de-railed; his excitement, maximum; chance of their death, certain.
