“Maybe this in between isn’t punishment… maybe it’s preparation. Maybe it’s the shaping.”
— Brock Eissman
This episode explores that in between season from both a human and psychological perspective:
• Why the “space between” is uncomfortable
• The science behind identity shifts & uncertainty
• Why your brain resists change
• How liminal spaces have always been the birthplace of transformation
• What to do when life feels unclear, heavy, or in transition
Brock offers three practical, research-backed tools you can use immediately to navigate the space between:
1. Name your season
2. Narrow your focus to what you can influence today
3. Recognize that discomfort is neuroplasticity & growth

GRYD: The Mindset Podcast
Hosted by Brock Eissman
This session marks the return of the podcast under a new name and vision, GRYD: The Mindset Podcast. After nearly two years away, host Brock Eissman is back with a renewed purpose, a growing family, a self-published journal, and an even deeper understanding of what it means to build, lead, and live intentionally.
In this Mindset Session, “Find Your Y” He challenges listeners to look inward and ask two simple questions:
Who are you?
and
Why are you?
Your “why” isn’t what you do, it’s who you are. This episode explores the intersection of identity, purpose, and presence,
“Your WHY should be simple to say, but deeply rooted. It’s not what you do… it’s who you are.”
—Brock Eissman

This session we interviewed Chris Logan. I am truly honored to have him share his thoughts about life throughout this session, his story will hopefully inspire you or someone you know. Chris works as a counselor for primarily individuals dealing with substance abuse, he has also worked with adolescents, adults, military veterans, first responders and families and held positions as a case manager, counselor, crisis interventionist, residential program manager and currently a program supervisor. After battling his own alcoholism and addiction for over 17 years, Chris became sober in February 2006. Seeing the benefits of his own recovery and new outlook on life, he began helping others find themselves and see there is truly a better way to live life. He and I just got back from an Off The Grid Therapy trip this past weekend, and I am honored to have him speak to you for todays Mindset Session! This session we interviewed one of my closest and long time friends Shane Elias-Calles. Shane is an extremely insightful man, and I am truly honored to have him share his thoughts about life throughout this session. Shane is a former collegiate athlete, a husband, a father, a leader in his community, and an amazing friend to myself as well as many others. I hope this episode speaks to you, and if it does I would truly appreciate you reaching out to us, or sending it to someone you think could benefit from hearing it. This is an important one for absolutely everyone. "Were only one person, and if our legacy dies with us then is it truly a legacy? But if when we die, if theres people that heard it, appreciated it, and decide that is something worth carrying on. Then that is the ultimate satisfaction of life." -Shane Eilas-Calles The game is not 90% mental and 10% physical, its 100% mental and 100% physical. DO BOTH. Thanks for listening!
