My guest for The Happy Hour #310 is Sam Collier. Today’s episode is a special one because Sam is our very first official male guest on The Happy Hour and we are so excited to have him! Sam is a pastor, author, speaker, and host of the TV Show/Radio-Podcast A Greater Story with Sam Collier. He also released a book yesterday called A Greater Story: My Rescue, Your Purpose, and Our Place in God’s Plan.

In today’s episode, Sam and I talk about meeting his biological family at the age of 25, trading music for ministry, and finding our purpose in the mess of life. Sam also dives into laying down our desires for God’s glory, and how he never planned to do ministry, write a book, or share about his adoption story. I love when he shares about the moment God said to him, “I need to strip you of your ‘desires’...would you be willing to trade your desires for mine, and your dreams for mine?” Y’all, what a great reminder that is! Laying down our desires in order to build a new identity and pursue God’s purpose for our lives.
