Oftentimes, when we feel an urge to do that behavior that we don't want to do, it can feel like this big, overwhelming force. We experience it as a powerful tidal wave that seems to take over and drive us to do what we don't want to do. It feels too powerful, too immense to resist.
What if you could pull back the curtain on your urge, and discover what it REALLY is? And what if discovering this for yourself suddenly made experiencing urges much less overwhelming, and far more manageable? If you could do this, then you would no longer have to give in to the urge. With this newfound perspective on the urge, you could move THROUGH it far more easily, paving the path to true freedom.
In this episode, you're going to learn why decoding your urges is a powerful practice. And as always, I'll give you practical steps you can take immediately to begin decoding your urges, so you can demystify that previously overwhelming temptation, and break it down into something that you can absolutely handle!

What if you could achieve an unprecedented victory even at the end of a long, stressful day? What if you could achieve massive wins, successes, and real steps towards freedom, even when your willpower and self-discipline are completely spent?
In other words, what if achieving real freedom didn't have to depend on your level of motivation, willpower, self-discipline, or simply how you're feeling that day?

Your success does not have to be hamstrung by your stress. You're going to discover and learn how to have unprecedented wins, even on a bad day!

Have you ever noticed just how much of your mental energy gets allocated towards the things you don't want to happen? Or, just how much of your attention is focused on the things you don't want?
Our default is to focus on the things that we don't want, what MIGHT happen, what we're worried about happening, things we don't want to happen. Also, the men we don't want to become, the behaviors we don't want to do.
It's kind of crazy when you stop to pay attention how much we focus on the things we don't want!
This is normal, and natural, but is it helpful? And actually, does it hinder, rather than help us? Specifically, in the pursuit of freedom from porn.
In this episode, you're going to discover how to start making a shift in your attention from what you don't want, to the things you truly want. And how this not only helps bring more joy and excitement to your life, but also how, in a very real way, it will help pave the path forward towards real freedom.
And, as always, we're going to get very practical, and I'm going to give you two ways that you can begin to make this shift daily, starting today!

Do you have a clear, actionable plan in place for the next time you feel that urge? And, has that plan given you a winning track record?
If we can't answer a resounding "YES!" to those two questions, is it reasonable to think that we will be able to effectively handle that next temptation and not give in to it?
In this episode of The New Paths Podcast, my goal is that by the end you will be able to say, "Yes, I have a clear, actionable, step-by-step plan to effectively address the direct CAUSE of the behavior I'm trying to stop!"
And, because a plan is worthless if we don't actually implement it in that intense moment, you're also going to walk away with a specific practice that will increase your probabilities that you will use the plan when you're on that front line, while also increasing your self-awareness.
Let's go!

Imagine if you learned about a formula that clearly explained the porn struggle. Imagine that this formula not only explained WHY we keep going back to porn, but also, what to do GOING FORWARD to stop going to porn.
This is exactly what happened to me just a few years ago. I learned about a four-part formula that gave me a new perspective on my struggle, and why I had not been able to experience freedom after trying for over 20 years (Hint: I was focusing my energies on the wrong part of the formula).
Once I made a slight shift in my perspective and plan in light of this formula, everything clicked. The roadblocks were suddenly removed. Exciting, exhilarating victories started to come very quickly.
In this episode of The New Paths Podcast, I'm going to share this formula with you, and why it had such a life-changing effect on me. I'm also going to give you specific steps to take if you want to apply this formula to your own situation. It was a complete game-changer for me, and I believe it can be for you too!
And as a bonus, in the episode I'm including an analogy from one of my favorite movies of all time :)

What if you could start to feel confident about facing that next temptation?
To take it a step further, what if you actually started to LOOK FORWARD to the next temptation, because you knew how to transform it into an opportunity for growth and freedom.
This is what we're going to discuss in the newest episode of The New Paths Podcast. You'll hear about how I was completely surprised when I experienced this for myself, AND, how you can do the exact same thing.
If you implement the steps I outline in this episode, you won't ever have to fear the temptation again. And, you'll know how to transform each urge into an opportunity!

When we say things like, "I'm feeling tempted," or "That pull is just too strong," or "I just couldn't resist," what do we actually MEAN by those statements?
Have you ever thought about this?
Answering this question, I believe, helps us get to the true crux of the front line of the porn struggle.
This is what we're going to uncover in this episode. We're going to boil down these statements and discover what I believe we're ultimately meaning. And when you do this, you then discover that you can honestly say, "Maybe, it's okay then."

The words we say to ourselves impact us in a big way.
On the freedom journey, there can be some intense moments. Maybe you've made a decision, and you're committed to being done with porn, to move on to something better and brighter. But though you've made the commitment, you still feel that familiar temptation, that craving. And it is still intense.
Just because you've made a decision to pursue freedom and be done with porn, this doesn't magically make the urge stop appearing. You're now having to face the crux and the front line of your journey: how to experience that intense urge, AND not give in to it. And not just one time, but many times.
In addition to having a clear, effective, actionable plan in place, something else greatly impacts those intense moments of temptation: What you're thinking.
How you THINK about that intense feeling, and what you're believing in that moment, can either aid you and give you that extra boost you need, or it can hamstring you, and make the experience of that urge even more difficult than it already is.
In the next two episodes of this podcast, I'm going to share two thoughts/beliefs that I regularly remind myself about when I'm feeling tempted to watch porn. And it helps me tremendously to get through that feeling, to go through it and to process it.
The first thought or belief that we're going to dive into in this episode is that maybe, just maybe, it makes sense that you feel tempted. Maybe, it makes sense that you feel intense cravings to go back to porn. We're going to explore this thought together, and I'm confident that it will help you the next time you feel that strong urge!

Pain is often a powerful catalyst for change. Few things motivate us more than pain that we're experiencing, or the fear of future pain.
When it comes to pursuing real freedom from porn, what are YOUR catalysts? What pain have you experienced because of porn? What pain are you currently still experiencing? What future pain do you desperately want to avoid?
It's been said before that to create change, we need REASONS. Do you want to feel motivated to create change in your life, and go pedal to the metal and pursue the real Freedom that is possible for you? If so, know your reasons. Know the reasons WHY you desperately want to be free, and remind yourself of them often.
What are your reasons? That's what we're going to discuss and what you're going to uncover for yourself in this episode. And at the end, we're going to talk about how it's true that pain is one of the greatest catalysts and sparks to create change in your life, but there is also a powerful and more healthy fuel that you will absolutely want to tap into to keep the momentum going and sustainable!
