TO PURCHASE MY BOOKS:
Today I’m joined by Annette Reid, owner of Annette’s driving school. Annette is an educator, published author, inspirational speaker, and entrepreneur. Annette and I met in a virtual entrepreneurial course almost two years ago and have kept in touch since the course ended. My interview with her concludes my series on domestic abuse for the month of October. Please feel free to listen to the other 3 young ladies I interviewed to hear their intriguing stories and find out what they did to stop the silence on domestic violence.
How does a woman who has it all together, is happy, and has good friends and a great support group, end up with an abuser? It happens every day. There are no socioeconomic, ethnic, or gender constraints.
You know what, I just realized that Annette and I were both in a relationship with and then married to a narcissist. That’s a future episode. What’s Annette doing today? Listen in until the end.

Alaysha spent 15 years in emotional purgatory. Imprisoned in her own mind...holding onto the negative disempowering emotions. That’s when God stepped in. Alaysha had a spiritual awakening. Now she’s the visionary behind 1 million strong warrior women thriving after abusive relationships. This is a global movement where women activate their voices, walk in their divine purpose, and who advocate for themselves and others.

I’m continuing my chat with Alyasha the Warrior Queen from yesterday. Alaysha shares her personal journey through domestic violence and how it propelled her into her God-given mission to empower 1 million warrior women survivors to thrive after being in abusive relationships.
“He realized that there was a deficit in my own self-worth.”
“Someone like him wants someone like me. That was my perception of my value and worth.”
“I thought he was the alternative.”
“What I learned? Trust your intuition, set boundaries, and it’s okay to say no.”

Starting today, Wednesday, October 19, and going through Friday, October 21, I’m chatting with Alyasha the Warrior Queen. Alaysha shares her personal journey through domestic violence and how it propelled her into her God-given mission to empower 1 million warrior women survivors to thrive after being in abusive relationships.
Did you know that abusers look for you like animals seek prey? They camouflage themselves with fake smiles and bombard you with false love bombs. They ask specific questions to find out your weaknesses and use your own weaknesses against you. The problem is, you’re unaware this is happening. It’s what Alayasha’s now ex-husband did and what many other abusers do. In Alaysha’s situation, her husband was in the church. Mmm hmm, stay tuned.

Today I continue my conversation with Dana Rankin and her experience with Domestic abuse. Please feel free to go back and listen to episode 1 which aired yesterday. Today, Dana is gracious enough to share how she helps her daughter from getting into abusive relationships, and how she intervened for her son, she also gives us examples of the depth of domestic abuse she endured and even tells us how we can prevent domestic violence. You might even see yourself in her examples. Unfortunately, at the very end of our conversation, I had technical difficulty, but thank God it was at the very end. Stay tuned…

Sometimes, love is blind. We aren’t looking for any red flags when we’re in love. We often find ourselves forgiving what we call ‘small things’. We make allowances for our man. He’s had a rough day at work…He’s not feeling well…Then, we suffer the consequences.
Are you in an abusive relationship? Can someone you love and trust the most, abuse you…AND know what he’s doing?
We’re not saying that abuse only happens to women. We know for a fact that it is not gender-based, i.e., men experience abuse also.
Today and tomorrow we’ll get to hear Dana Rankin’s experience. Dana is the owner & founder of Above Rubies Christian Gifts. She took her experience of living at harmony house, a domestic violence shelter, and became a thriver of domestic violence! Once a victim but now she’s thriving.
Say you’ve gotten out of the abusive relationship..What are you doing in between? Are you going right into another relationship without getting healed? That’s what I did.
What happens when you feel the fear but finally speak up for yourself?
Stay until the end to hear what happened with Dana’s children and if there were long-term effects of going through DV with her and see what she’s learned in her journey.

Today’s episode with my guest, Fizza Kashif Khan (Fan) is purposely un-edited. It is candid, blunt, no holds barred. So listener beware. This is your trigger warning. Some of the language will not be suitable for young ears. Here’s a quote from Fizza. Quote, “Don’t wrap up abuse in a beautiful gift wrapped package…it’s abuse and it’s damaging. Even in the jungle, animals respect each other, so why can’t we?” Unquote.
Alright, If you listen until the end you will get a bonus.
