Today’s episode with my guest, Fizza Kashif Khan (Fan) is purposely un-edited. It is candid, blunt, no holds barred. So listener beware. This is your trigger warning. Some of the language will not be suitable for young ears. Fizza paints a clear and vivid picture of what happens to your soul before, during, and after you have been raped by the one who says he loves you. Today’s conversation is ripe with imagery, so stay tuned.

Today's episode with my guest, Fizza Kashif Khan (Fan) is purposely unedited. Fizza is a Relationship Guru & Transformation Coach who helps married professionals, who are ready, to step into their authentic power. She especially assists women in their 30s-50s from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds who are unhappy in their marriage and family life find inner peace.
Fizza brings with her an acute understanding of diverse cultural values, morals, and ethics and is fluent in speaking, reading, writing, and communicating in English and Urdu (Urdoo). She also understands Hindi and the Punjabi language.
Let me tell you, throughout our three episodes together, which will air Oct 5, 6, & 7, Fizza and I had very candid, blunt, no holds barred conversations about the effects of domestic abuse. So listener beware. This is your trigger warning. Some of the language may not be suitable for young ears. That being said, these episodes will definitely make you rethink some things you thought you knew about domestic abuse.

Today’s episode involves something most people do. Many do this unknowingly but seem not to be able to stop doing it. I’ll bet even you do it. Listen to these case studies.
-Janet was sitting at her desk at work entering invoices into the Sales Force system when she happened to look up and see her co-workers in a huddle talking quietly. Occasionally, one would look over at her then quickly turn back to the conversation. She wondered what was going on. Why was she left out? Were they talking about her?
-Sean’s boss had just yelled at him for reasons unknown to Sean. He didn’t understand what was going on with his
-Shannon’s husband was caught in the act. She was steaming mad.
-Jordan was bullied all throughout the seventh grade. Years later, he suffered from PTSD.
What do Janet, Sean, Shannon, and Jordan all have in common? They each took their situations personally.

According to the Mother Wound Project, The mother wound is all the pain someone carries with them that comes from being harmed in one specific way or in many different ways by their own mother. This harm might have occurred when they were a baby, a child, a teen or an adult, it might have been short term (i.e. a one-time event) or long term (i.e. ongoing), and it might have been emotional, physical, religious/spiritual, financial and/or sexual in nature.
In a nutshell, for both males and females, it’s when your mom who carried you in her stomach for 9 months never, has or doesn’t know how to connect with you emotionally or with intense feeling. It’s a deficit in the mother-daughter or mother-son relationship that is passed down through generations and is a reflection on how we have experienced parenting and affects how we parent and how we navigate relationships.
