Tyler Herro went off for 36 points, Davion Mitchell and Andrew Wiggins added 16 apiece and the suddenly red-hot Heat shot 55% from 3, scorching the Atlanta Hawks 122-112 for their 3rd straight win.

Bam Adebayo had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Miami, which trailed by 14 in the first quarter but dominated the 2nd & 3rd quarters and held on in the 4th to close out their home-stand and hit the road for the next 3 of their final 9 games.

The win moved the Heat (32-41) within 3 games of the Hawks (35-38) for the No. 7 seed in the NBA’s Eastern Conference playoff race. Both teams have 9 games left to play.

Miami went on a 31-3 run over a 6:00 span of the 2nd & 3rd quarters that turned a 14-point deficit into a 14-point lead. The Heat scored 19 consecutive points during the run, a season-high.

Herro shot 31 for 46 (67.4%) from the field and 10 of 15 (67%) from 3 over the last 3 games, all Miami wins. The Heat’s All-Star and NBA 3-Point Shooting Contest Champion is averaging 28.3 points during Miami’s ‘W’ streak.

With 2:18 left, Herro drilled a 3-pointer to send the Miami crowd into a frenzy and suck the life out of the Hawks. Tyler’s dagger 3 came right after the Hawks had cut Miami’s lead to 5, getting as close as they would get in the 2nd half.

Mitchell has played every minute of every 4th quarter for the last 8 games for Miami.

Trae Young had 29 points and 12 assists for the Hawks, who got 17 points from Caris LeVert.
