We begin the second episode of our series "Heaven and Hell" looking up at the "skies." In the ancient understanding, and still in many languages, the word for "sky" and the "heavens" were one and the same. For modern consciousness, particularly in English, the heavens are no longer in the skies. Where is heaven for us? In the renewed form of the Christian Creed in the movement for religious renewal, we speak of Christ as "the Lord of the heavenly forces upon earth.” Patrick and Jonah lead us through how these powers of the skies have come to earth and reside as potentials within human beings, how we are meant to shine out into the world, like the stars above, individually and in relationship with others, and how this shining light and warmth - now wisdom and love - are forces bestowed upon us from their true, divine source.
