The Spiritual Scientist Podcast

This is Part 2 of a longer discussion with author, historian, speaker and translator Terry Boardman who returns to explore the spiritual background to today's world situation and Rudolf Steiner's approach to the study of history.

Terry sees history itself as the playing out of spiritual processes and even the "deeds of spiritual beings". Today we look at the spiritual background to the Iran-US-Israel conflict and the deep spiritual currents behind it.

Terry’s latest book is: "Lines in the Sand, Christian Zionism and the Formation of the State of Israel". Buy it here: https://www.templelodge.com/viewbook....

ABOUT THIS CHANNEL

The Spiritual Scientist channel is dedicated to discerning the spiritual currents of our time with the help of Rudolf Steiner's insights and also those of the many men and women who have taken his work seriously.

There is a deep longing in many people today for a real knowledge of the spirit. Many feel that a vague, nebulous or abstract spirituality no longer suffices in today's world and at the same time, a return to the dogma of traditional religions is unthinkable.

In short, we want to know for ourselves.

Steiner offered a path which is completely individual to each person who takes it up...and at the same time universal. It is a path which anyone can follow no matter their cultural background. And no matter what your religion or spiritual path is, Steiner's ideas and "Anthroposophy" can support and enliven it.

His insights have brought renewal to many areas in life such as Education, Agriculture (Biodynamics), Medicine , Religion (The Christian Community), architecture and many others.

ABOUT THE HOST

ABOUT OUR GUEST

Thomas Moore is a psychotherapist, writer and spiritual teacher. He is best known for his hugely influential book "Care of the Soul", amongst more than 30 other books. In this conversation we explore the difference between soul and spirit, dealing with regret, the importance of humour and the imagination, facing dark nights of the soul and following the promptings of the daimon (not demon!). We also talk about his next book (not yet released) about Henry David Thoreau.

It was a real honour to speak with one of my heroes.

Thank you for watching!

Warmest wishes

Mick

A wonderfully rich conversation with author, Christian Community priest and poet, Rev. Tom Ravetz.

We discuss Tom’s meeting with the work of Rudolf Steiner through the Camphill Movement (dedicated to supporting those with intellectual/physical disabilities) and biodynamic gardening.

We also hear about his encounter with the Christian Community (a non-dogmatic “movement for religious renewal”) the history of Christianity as a whole and the experiential nature of religion… as opposed to its dogmas.

Of particular interest to me was Tom’s description of the difference between faith and belief. A new distinction for me.

I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did.

Warmest wishes
