However, many producers may be skittish about hedging, perhaps having heard about a neighbor who lost money or maybe experiencing negative results themselves. There is a lot of information out there when it comes to hedging and it can be contradictory and confusing.
Cory Walters is an associate professor in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Department of Agricultural Economics and has co-authored a new article seeking to improve some of the disconnect associated with decisions about hedging.
