This ep, I'm diving into possibility, and how powerful a concept this can be in anyone's life. Possibility is the the thing that drives a spark within us, that ultimately leads us towards action. It is the beginning of momentum that is crucial if we are going to achieve anything, or change anything. It is the starting point.
Specifically in this episode I talk through:
The book I reference in the podcast is The Power of Habit

Today's guest is an Unconventional Mindfulness Facilitator & former cynical pessimist. She’s the woman that was ticking all the boxes but wasn’t necessarily feeling that deep sense of lasting satisfaction that most of us crave. Perhaps the best description ever – she felt like an empty coloring book.
She’s a specialist in helping people not buy into the sometimes destructive mind-chatter that most of us experience. As she puts it, Andrea helps indecisive overachievers to get clear on their direction and sense of self by learning to tame their mind.
In today's ep. I'm getting to the nitty gritty of mindfulness with Andrea. I really was wanting to understand what it meant to her, and why I might want to practice mindfulness. Specifically, we cover the following:
Andrea mentions her favorite book: Eckhart Tolle's The Power of Now. We also discuss his second book, A New Earth.

Most of have a tendency to get stuck on distractions, and sometimes drama, and often the most important stuff gets pushed aside.
Today I'm talking about how to make sure the Important stuff (the things that matter most in your life) don't fall by the wayside and become dominated by the things that are nosier and demand your attention more - the Urgent things.
Because a life well-lived is one where you're focusing on, and spending your time on, the stuff that matters most.
In this ep. I talk through the Franklin-Covey Time Management Matrix. To see an image, head to my website: www.thrive.how/podcast61.
This concept is spoken about in depth in Stephen Covey's book - The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People - under Habit 3: Put First Things First.
I reference a Fortune article on this topic too. That can be found here: http://fortune.com/2011/03/16/how-i-managed-my-time-the-covey-way/
I talk through how you can prioritize your own life, and some simple tools that can help you spend more of your time on the stuff that is truly important to you.
Exercise: Towards the end of this episode I ask you to think about what things can go in your personal F*ck-It Bucket. Grab a piece of paper, put a line down the middle. Put a title on one side "What Matters Most", and on the other side title it "F*ck-It Bucket". This is a very quick and easy way to do an audit of your priorities and what you might need to pay more attention to.

Christopher Plowman is the CEO at Insight Timer. He however, is not after any attention. He’d rather let the app speak for itself. BUT I got him talking. I wanted to know about the CEO behind the App, so I asked him a bunch of deep and meaningful questions to get to know him better – cause well, that’s what I like to do.
> To download the App, search "Insight Timer" in your App Store <
Here I talk to Christopher about:

This is a two part series. In the first part of the interview, I’m talking to the CEO of Insight Timer, Christopher Plowman, about their amazing App, what it does, what it is going to do, and what those behind Insight Timer are driven by.
If you’re not familiar with it, Insight Timer is the biggest little meditation app you’ve never heard of [as the CEO puts it himself in this interview]. More people meditate on Insight Timer than do on Headspace, but it’s all been organic, word of mouth growth. It’s that awesome product that you can’t help but share with everyone once you know about it. Hence the reason I’m talking to you about it!
Insight Timer is different in that it is a community platform. They provide the platform, and teachers upload their content. What that means is that you can find every type of mediation imaginable, and it’s all > FREE! <
But why are they, the people behind the Insight Timer platform, invested in this objective – of providing to free meditation to all – anyway? how do they intend to remain sustainable? What does growth at Insight Timer look like?
This the behind-the-scenes peek into the biggest little mediation app or as I like to say, the Behind the Scenes low-down.
If you’ve ever contemplated meditating, you should start here. If you’re a seasoned meditator, you’ll absolutely appreciate the timer and the breath of meditations you can access for free on the app. And if you’re a mediation teacher (or aspire to be one day!) this could be an amazing platform to help share you work.

Life is FULL of tough decisions, but some of us get stuck in the trap of indecisiveness. While many of us want to be rational and thought-out in our decision making, perhaps it isn't always our best option.

This episode is inspired by Simon Sinek and his TED talk on the importance of asking WHY when you're talking about Inspiring others. I've flipped it on it's head a bit and I'm talking about the importance of asking yourself why when it comes to living an INSPIRED LIFE.
[If you enjoyed this episode, you can head here to leave a review - www.thrive.how/review]
Specifically I'm asking:
Seemingly simple questions, but when you pull them apart a bit, not so seemingly simple to answer.
I also talk about a story that a few years back pulled hard on my heart strings and make me more focused on the big questions in life. You can read some of my take on Linds Redding's story and get links to the original blog post - A Lesson in Perspective - here: What Are You Working For
