Speaker:
Phil Fersht, CEO and Chief Analyst, HFS
Session Description:
Phil Fersht, HFS CEO and Chief Analyst made some waves in New York City on May 16 with a groundbreaking opening keynote describing the Hot Pursuit of the Generative Enterprise.
Phil shared new HFS Pulse Data from 600 enterprise leaders across the Global 2000 that explored the immediate needs of enterprise leaders and the emerging impact of ChatGPT and Generative AI. Fersht coined the term The Generative Enterprise, which describes the accelerated impending S-Curve of change that is likely to be the most significant enterprise disruptor since the advent of offshoring and globalization 20 years ago.
In advance of his keynote, Phil said, “The capabilities and potential of GPT-4.0 and beyond are headed in one highly-disruptive direction…many jobs will be replaced, many will be significantly augmented, and the whole nature of getting work done will go through a seismic revolution, provided governments do not step in and attempt to regulate this explosion of technology.”
The Hot Pursuit of the Generative Enterprise laid the groundwork for what we can all expect our work lives to be like in the coming decade.

The Q2 2022 Hot Vendor has lessons for all of us as we tackle the Great Freakout – in which managers come to terms with a new hybrid working reality. How do you build a culture that sustains? How do you keep things personal when you’re miles apart? And how do you do all that while innovating at the cutting edge of your industry. VP Program Success April Wiita has insights, too, for those rushing to build a better bot (spoiler alert – don’t take the risk of ploughing ahead without a human-powered plan B).
The HFS OneOffice Hot Vendors are an exclusive group of emerging players, each with a differentiated value proposition for the OneOffice. HFS analysts regularly speak with numerous exciting start-ups and emerging players. We designate a select group as the HFS Hot Vendors based on their distinctiveness, ecosystem robustness, client impact, financial position, and the impact on our OneOffice Framework. Those selected are collated and published quarterly and added to our online database. They each have the vision and strategy to impact and disrupt the market.
The videocast is in three sections in which we:
Nothing dictates real secular change to enterprise operations more than financial pressures. We are rapidly arriving at a third major trigger that will lead to the evolution of many autonomous enterprises where leaders have no choice but to drag their operations out of the dark ages.
These critical topics are up for debate:
Nearly 90% of finance executives agree that driving growth for the enterprise is the raison d’être for the modern finance function beyond cost reduction and compliance. Yet, our research reveals that only 12% of finance organizations have realized their ambitions around cost, control, business outcomes, and influence.
This session unpacks what finance superheroes are doing differently and what it takes to get there:
There are no excuses left for enterprise leaders to figure out how to run their organizations as autonomously as possible. The Autonomous Enterprise is ultimately about machines making decisions where we previously had humans and removing humans from loops that don’t need humans anymore.
Expect a hype-free and cutting-edge discussion that will answer these questions:
Ravi Kumar S, CEO of Cognizant, talks with Phil Fersht, CEO and Chief Analyst of HFS Research, at the HFS Horizons Summit-London on March 23, 2023.
The Great Resignation may be in the rear-view mirror, but in an economic downturn, EX has never been more critical to an enterprise’s success. Leveraging talent through empowerment, purpose, and greater alignment in a hybrid world can make the difference between growth, stagnation, and failure in a world on fire.
We’ll hear from leaders on the front line of driving improved EX speak on these topics:
We’ll break down the global sustainability context across organizations and ecosystems—outlining the aligned and collaborative approach organizations must take. We will help bring clarity to individuals, teams, and whole businesses, about their roles and opportunities. Our goal is to be part of the critical mass that moves first and changes the systems that have created and continue to worsen an already terrifying sustainability emergency.
Our panel will consider these questions:
