Lyrics to "It Is Good"
It's not good that we should be apart
Cut off alone, starvation of the heart
Had it not been for others
I'd be desperate and alone
No family or friends
And lost without a home
To all my brothers and sisters
Forgiven in the Lord
Chorus:
I need you
You need me
And we all need each other
Thank you God
For the chance
To share His love
with one another
Behold, behold it is good
Annointing of oil
Like blessing flowing down
Like dew on the mountains
Your grace flows all around
United with the Son
We share the Father's love
Forgiven and forgiving
With mercy from above
To all my brothers and sisters
Forgiven in the Lord
To every generation
Your children near and far
United in His blessing
Of life forevermore
Behold, behold it is good
Behold, behold it is good

Lyrics to "I'm Waiting"
You were born in the darkness of night
And pursued by evil men
Hated, rejected and despised
You were mocked, and put to death
Out of the depths you speak to me
Do not fear
I will never leave You
Out of the depths you speak to me
Do not fear
I will never forsake You
If You counted all my sins
I could never stand before You
But I don't hope in myself
I hope in Your Word
Chorus:
I'm Waiting, I cry to You
I'm waiting, all my hope is in You
Waiting, I cry to You
I'm waiting, all my hope is in You
You came out of the depths
I live in the darkness of night
I'm on the run, and I call to You
I feel hated, rejected and despised
I pray that You will make all things new
Out of the depths you speak to me
Do not fear
I will never leave You
Out of the depths you speak to me
Do not fear
I will never forsake You
If You counted all my sins
I could never stand before You
But I don't hope in myself
I hope in Your Word
Lo You are with me always
To the end of time
Lo You are with me always
To the end of time

Chad digs deep into the riches of this Psalm. We hear of the gift of family, and are encouraged to rest in Christ's loving care for our loved ones. Jeff Anderson makes his first guest appearance on the podcast singing "Without You".
Lyrics for Without You:
Psalm 127
Without You
All my labors are in vain
Without You
All my monuments give way
Crumbling like sand, back to the ocean,
under the waves, lost in the motion
Without You
Blessed are the ones
Who inherit a family
Children of light
A blessing to humanity
They have no reason to fear
Behold our Savior is here
Chorus
Come, my family let us rest
Come, give thanks for we are blessed
You watch over us
You watch over us
And we are not ashamed
Without you
There is no room for love
Without you
We can never be as one
In the Spirit of truth
Together and forever
For there is no love, no lasting treasure
Without you
Blessed are the ones
Who come into Your family
Who enter Your kingdom
Find their humanity
They have no reason to fear
Behold our Savior is here
Chorus
Come, my family let us rest
Come, give thanks for we are blessed
You watch over us
You watch over us
And we are not ashamed
Bridge:
Rest, for Your good pleasure
Rest, with Your gifts and treasure
Rest in Christ the Son
Rest in the Holy one
We rest in You

Lyrics to "If It Had Not Been"
The raging waters
Would have swept us away
We'd be lost forever
There'd be nothing to say
If the Lord weren't at our side
When we were attacked
How Their anger flared
Could have swallowed us whole
They sure didn't care
There'd be nothing to say
And nothing would remain
If the Lord weren't at our side
Chorus
If it had not been
For the hand of Christ
If it had not been
For the gift of life
If it had not been
Then I would not be
So I thank You and I praise You
For eternity
My soul has escaped
Like a bird from the snare
My help comes from You
You have heard my prayer
When the waters rise
Nothing would remain
If the Lord weren't at our side
Chorus
If it had not been
For the hand of Christ
If it had not been
For the gift of life
If it had not been
Then I would not be
So I thank You and I praise You
For eternity

Lyrics to "O Jerusalem"
See my eyes, they have been looking toward Your gates,
O Jerusalem! O Jerusalem,
When they said "let's journey together to Your house",
My heart was so glad, O Jerusalem!
We saw it from far away
and now we draw near
To Your body and Your blood
Soul and divinity
O Jerusalem O Jerusalem
Chorus:
Peace be with us
In the courts of heaven
Peace be with us
through the Lord Jesus Christ
Peace is with us
In the courts of heaven
Peace be with us
through the Lord Jesus Christ
O Jerusalem O Jerusalem
City of God
Now our feet are rightly standing
within your gates,
O Jerusalem! O Jerusalem,
There is peace within Your walls
Security
In your towers, O Jerusalem!
For my sisters and brothers I will say
"Peace be with you" O Jerusalem
We saw it from a far off
and now we draw near
To Your body and blood
Soul and divinity
O Jerusalem O Jerusalem
Chad meditates on the Psalms of Ascent, and relates this journey to our own journey toward the new Jerusalem. Jonathan, Amanda and Emmy Noel sing "On The Way Up To Zion". Bethany Bordeaux is featured with her evocative violin playing.

We walk along the well worn path
On the way up to Zion
Surrounded by so great a cloud
On the way up to Zion
And we walk in, the steps of the saints.
All of us sinners
We look to the Lord, the Lord our strength
Our help and our deliverer
The path grows dangerous
We stumble on the rocks upon the trail
But Jesus holds us steady
And by His grace we will prevail
Shalom, shalom
Within the gates of Zion
Our God is before us
Behind us and beside us
Shalom, shalom awaits us
Within the gates of Zion
Today we walk, the well worn path
On our journey up to Zion
Our shelter from the withering heat
On the way up to Zion
Covered under, Your mantle of grace
On the way up to Zion
Even now you extend Your arms
To all of us sinners
Reconciling armies of hate
With Your deliverance
Shalom, shalom
Within the gates of Zion
Our God is before us
Behind us and beside us
Shalom, shalom awaits us
Within the gates of Zion
Today we walk, the well worn path
On our journey up to Zion
The wicked and arrogant think they can prey upon the poor with impunity. Not so. Chad meditates on God hiding himself, it seems especially in times of trouble. Lament, interrogation of God and David's frustration help us to see that though the work dis full injustice, God is closer than we think, and God invites us to cry and complain to Him. Izzi Ray sings "Why"

Throughout this magnificent chapter, we have meditated on the ways of God, the benefits of walking with God, staying close to Him and learning from Him. Now as we get to the end of the chapter we see that we are all like lost sheep, and we all desperately need the salvation given to us through Christ. THe Psalm ist says "let Your hand helpme, for I have chosen Your precepts".
We see the goal but only Christ has accomplished this. The talented Markita Knight sings "Bring Me Home"
