Lyrics to "Long Have I Known"

With my whole heart I cry.

Lord please answer me

I rise before dawn

And I ask You for help

With my whole heart I wait

I await the dawn

I wait on your promises

And remember Your grace, Your kindness to me, I ask You to stay

Stay with me

Through the night of my affliction

(Won't you) stay with me

Til the morning arrives

Stay with me

From beginning to end

My Deliverer, all my Life

Chorus:

Long have I known You are near me

Long have I known You are proven true

Lord You answer me in the silence

In the silence of the empty tomb

the empty tomb

Your Word is the Truth,

Your Word is forever

The sum of Your word is Truth

From beginning to end

Give me life, I cry, with my whole heart

In the darkness of night

I wait for your words, your reply

You gave me Your answer

When You left the tomb

You gave me Your answer

By Your resurrection

And I too shall rise

And follow You

Into the dawn of the everlasting day

Lyrics to "the House of Your Word"

No matter how long the fight

No matter how dark the night

The darkness trembles, in the light that shines

From the house, the house of Your Word

And I come stumbling through the door

I start to remember Your grace once more

Didn't know that I was blinded and lost

But for love, You carried Your cross

You speak forgiveness in my ear

You speak the truth of Your redeeming word

(Chorus)

Take away these rags

And dress me up in righteousness

Light up the darkness, and shine through me

Oh Jesus, You can shine through me

In the house, the house of Your Word

Righteous is the Lord

Your testimonies are proven right

All Your promises are faithful and true

From the house, the house of your word.

Trouble and anguish have found me in the night

But Your commandments will be my delight

On my own I am blinded and lost

But for love, You carried Your cross

You speak forgiveness in my ear

You speak the truth of Your redeeming word

(Chorus)

Take away these rags

And dress me in your righteousness

Light up the darkness, and shine through me

Oh Jesus, You can shine through me

In the house, the house of Your Word

I see the doorway

The doorway of your light

Born into blindness

And finally given sight

Hallelujah

In the house of Your word

Freedom rings

In the house of Your word

Hallelujah

For darkness to light

Hallelujah

For the Word of life

Next weekend we get back on track for the last 3 episodes of Psalm 119. But for this weekend let's pause and consider the great cost of our salvation, namely the suffering Holy one, who took the sins of the whole upon Himself. The talented Kris Winrich sings "Why Have You Forsaken Me".

Eyes like flames of fire

Feet like burnished bronze

Your voice like roaring thunder

Your face that shines like the sun

Don't let my life waste away

Please guide me, by the words You say

I love Your words

My hiding place

I love Your words

Hold me up and keep me safe

I love Your words

I tremble with fear

For You hold the world by Your hand

Any You will judge thel peoples

From every tribe and every land

Don't let my life be put to shame

Please guide me, by the words You say

I love Your words

My hiding place

I love Your words

Hold me up and keep me safe

I love Your words

The plans of the wicked

will all be in vain

When they stand before the

God who makes fire and rain

I love Your words

My hiding place

I love Your words

Hold me up and keep me safe

I love Your words

This selection of Psalm 119 can be pretty confusing, seemingly arrogant and boastful. Chad explains all this and Colin Heinrich sings "The Narrow Way".

Lyrics to the Narrow Way

Walking along

They say that I'm walking backwards

They whisper I'm falling far behind

Walking along

Trusting Your Word to give me sight

I know that I'm walking by the light

When it looks so foolish

When it makes no sense - please remind me

Christ is the narrow way

You're the narrow way

Walking along

They say I've got no direction

They whisper I'm stumbling in the night

Walking along

I'll keep trusting in You to guide me

It's Your Word that shines the light

When it looks so foolish

When it makes no sense - please remind me

Christ is the narrow way

You're the narrow way

Hold fast to me

On the narrow path

Hold me fast to You

Along the narrow path

Christ my light, Light of light

Guide me on

In the 6th part of this long and fascinating Psalm, Chad looks at spiritual hunger, our need to rely on God rather than ourselves or our circumstances. He speaks of the wineskin analogy and explains how it applies to us daily. Rebekah Caggegi sings "My Soul Belongs to You".

Lyrics to Psalm 119 week 6 - My Soul Belongs to You

If your law hadn't been my delight,

I would have perished in my affliction

But my soul belongs to You

Through the pitfalls and persecution

I am like a wine skin

In the burning smoke

Shriveled up and useless

And treated like a joke

Pour the wine

The wine of Your grace

Into this thirsty soul

Into this thirsty soul

I know, my soul, belongs to You

Forever O Lord Your word

Is firmly fixed in the heavens

Your faithfulness forever

Is enduring to all generations

I am like a wine skin

In the burning smoke

Shriveled up and useless

And treated like a joke

Pour the wine

The wine of Your grace

Into this thirsty soul

Into this thirsty soul

I know, my soul, belongs to You.

You call me by your Name

You call me as Your own

You call me to Your Son

And carry me

Carry me to Your throne

in this 5th week of Psalm 119, Chad looks at the word God uses when speaking of his creation.

Chris Lizotte sings "It's all good, for You are good".

Lyrics to Psalm 119 verses 65-80 "It's all good, for You are good"

All creation

The sky and sea

The stars of heaven

The air we breathe

It is good

It's all good

For You are good

It is good

When I was afflicted

My heart went astray

But Your hands never failed

You kept me on the way

And it is good

It's all good

For You are good

It is good

Chorus:

All I know is

It was good to be afflicted

It's so good

To rest in Your hands

All I know is

Your hands are there to catch me

Catch me in Your love today

It is good

It's all good

For You are good

Your hands have made me

Teach me Your ways

I wanna walk with you

All of my days

It is good

It's all good

For You are good

It is good

Your words are rich to me

An eternal treasure

Sweeter than honey

Takes away the pressure

The ignorant smear my name

They whisper behind closed doors

But I'll walk in Your joy

Forevermore

Lyrics to Chasing the Wind:

Psalm 119 week 4

In the cold of night

I remember You

Ensnared by the wicked ones

Yet I rise to praise you

In the bleakness

In the bitter loss

My wealth is gone

My gold is dross

But Lord, you are my portion

I remember Your name

And You remember me

You've always known my name

So why was I chasing the wind

Chasing the wind

In the freezing cold

When I am in distress

My only hope

Your grace and promises

In the bleakness

In the bitter loss

My wealth is gone

My gold is dross

But Lord, you are my portion

I remember Your name

And You remember me

You've always known my name

So why was I chasing the wind

Chasing the wind

There is Love among the ruins

Allies who fell

Have risen again

By Your grace

Even in the freezing cold

Another beautiful meditation on the word of God which brings light to our darkened eyes.

Izzi Ray sings "Turn My Heart, Turn My Eyes"

Lyrics to Turn My Heart, Turn My Eyes

Psalm 119. 3

Life and death

Day and night

The only choice

Is Dark or light

Your way is true

Your way is right

The narrow path

Into Your light

Chorus:

Turn my heart

Turn my eyes

You give me life

And I am Yours

Incline my heart

Fill my eyes

To your word

With your light

O steadfast love

come near to me

keep me bound to you

My only liberty
