In Episode 103 of the “High Regard Show,” “Gianmarco's Breakout," we talk to comedian Gianmarco Soresi, who is headlining the Breakout Artist Comedy Series at Caroline's in New York City on Wednesday, Sept. 27. Gianmarco tells us about the first time he got punched in the face, how a trip to Caroline’s changed his life and what it was like working with Tracy Morgan on his forthcoming TBS show, “The Last O.G."
And if that's not enough, Gianmarco is such a nice young man that he shared the discount code for Wednesday’s show, so get listening!
In this week's "Roly Poly Roarty," we introduce our new studio manager and all-around good girl, Kona, the soon-to-be service dog who joined the family last week. The 1-year-old pittie is a rescue from Pup Starz here in New York, and we are already obsessed with her chillness, her three white feet and her snaggletoof. • ANThems - S2E102
In Episode 102 of the "High Regard Show," ANThems," Nikki and Tom, our resident dandy highwayman, talk about seeing his man crush — and one of two people he’d leave Nikki for — Adam Ant at the Beacon Theater, from how this Long Island dirtbag got into the sexy British pirate punk to going on his first major (and exhausting) outing since his POTS diagnosis.
In “Roly Poly Roarty,” Tom discusses his new exercise savior, the Mayo Clinic-recommended mini exercise bike that he can pedal right from the comfort of his beloved couch and finally start getting the workouts in that are so important to managing POTS. (His is from Confidence Fitness, and he highly recommends it, even without being paid to say that.)

  • Remembrance-S2E101
In the emotionally charged Episode 101 of the "High Regard Show," Remembrance," we talk about Sept. 11, 2001, from what we remember of that day and how the Financial District has changed in the years since to stories from survivors who witnessed the horror first-hand.
Tom allows Nikki to take over "Roly Poly Roarty" this week to discuss her visit to Canine Companions for Independence on Long Island, which has been training and providing service dogs to those in need — free of cost — for more than 40 years. Surprisingly, she didn't sneak out with one or seven pups when she left.

  • Impossible Aubrey - S2E100
In Episode 100 of the “High Regard Show,” “Impossible Aubrey,” we speak with effervescent musician Aubrey Logan, who just released her debut album, “Impossible,” which came out of the gate on Friday to hit No. 3 on the iTunes jazz charts before quickly jumping to No. 2.
The Postmodern Jukebox member talks to us about making “Impossible,” why she hopes your face hurts when you leave one of her shows and tells us who she’d like to have cover one of her original songs. (Hint: It rhymes with fiancé.)
In this week’s “Roly Poly Roarty,” Tom gives an update on the status of the HRS dog, shares how surprisingly difficult it's been to hear back from a New York City animal shelter and discusses other options we're now exploring because of that in our journey to obtain a pup to help with his POTS syndrome.
And, being that this is Episode 100 of HRS (can you believe it!? We hardly can!), we just want to say thank you so very much for your listens and comments. We love doing this podcast, and love that you love us, too. Here's to the next 100 — and everything we have up our sleeve for you!

  • Going To The Dogs - S2E99
In Episode 99 of the "High Regard Show," Going to the Dogs," Nikki and Tom discuss the four-legged bundle of joy they are expecting one day soon. That's right, there's going to be an HRS dog, who is not only sure to be cute AF, but will also have a higher purpose as he or she will be helping Tom battle his POTS syndrome, from actually getting him out of the house to protecting him during an episode.
Though both of them are lifelong dog lovers, the decision was not made lightly, and Nikki openly and honestly talks about the reservations of adding a new member to the family and Tom shares what's he's learned about the process so far.

  • From Dark To Light - S2E98
In Episode 98 of the “High Regard Show,” “From Dark to Light," we speak to artist Marshall Arisman, whose career retrospective, "An Artist's Journey from Dark to Light," will be at SVA Chelsea Gallery in New York through Sept. 16.
Marshall, who has been on the SVA faculty for the past 52 years, speaks about the lasting influence of his Sundays with his grandmother in Lily Dale, a haven for mystics and spiritualists in Upstate New York, how he came to paint only with his hands instead of a brush and why Trump is too dark even for him, despite spending his 45-year career walking the fine line between good and evil in his work.
In “Roly Poly Roarty,” Tom talks about dealing with the chronic sleeplessness that comes with POTS syndrome, how his latest visit with his bariatric surgeon went and — because someone has to — post-bariatric surgery bathroom habits.

  • At The Cinema - S2E97
Summer is blockbuster movie season, and with that in mind, Nikki and Tom talk the five movies that shaped them in Episode 97 of the “High Regard Show,” “At The Cinema." From the very first movie that Tom remembers and their shared love of the OG summer blockbusters to the two movies Nikki will never bypass (nor not mouth line-by-line), you're going to want to grab some popcorn and have your own little movie fest after listening.
In “Roly Poly Roarty,” Tom takes a tumble, talks prescriptions and mulls the possibility of getting an assistance dog, while Nikki makes a donkey noise.

  • P.O.T.S. It Is - S2E96
In Episode 96 of the “High Regard Show,” “P.O.T.S. It Is,” “Roly Poly Roarty” takes center stage as Tom has, at long last, returned home from his stint at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
We finally get a diagnosis to what’s been causing Tom’s blackouts and dizzy spells, and it’s, ironically, a rare syndrome called POTS. He tells us about the multitude of tests he endured, what happened to a full-frontal nudie he took of himself as a purple people eater and what’s next on the horizon as he learns to live with this rare disease.

  • TV Generation - S2E95
In Episode 95 of the “High Regard Show,” “TV Generation,” we speak with New York-based musician Edward Rogers, who just released his seventh solo album, "TV Generation." Edward tells us about his structured writing process, the benefits of “stinkeroo” reviews and, with the album called “TV Generation,” what he’s currently watching on the boob tube, which just so happens to be Tom and Nikki’s current obsession, too.
In this week’s remote “Roly Poly Roarty,” Tom gives us an update from the Mayo Clinic, how the care in Minnesota drastically differs from that in New York — and everywhere else — and how he's handling life away from his couch.
