  • TV Generation - S2E95
In Episode 95 of the “High Regard Show,” “TV Generation,” we speak with New York-based musician Edward Rogers, who just released his seventh solo album, "TV Generation." Edward tells us about his structured writing process, the benefits of “stinkeroo” reviews and, with the album called “TV Generation,” what he’s currently watching on the boob tube, which just so happens to be Tom and Nikki’s current obsession, too.
In this week’s remote “Roly Poly Roarty,” Tom gives us an update from the Mayo Clinic, how the care in Minnesota drastically differs from that in New York — and everywhere else — and how he's handling life away from his couch.

  • A Wall Apart-S2E94
In Episode 94 of the “High Regard Show,” “A Wall Apart,” we talk to Graham Russell, one half of iconic music duo Air Supply, whose latest work is "A Wall Apart." "A Wall Apart" is a rock musical that tells the story of three brothers living in Berlin at the time of the wall is erected, and Graham tells us how the musical came to be, what he hopes comes out of its run at the New York Musical Festival and which of Air Supply's many hits is his favorite.
We're skipping “Roly Poly Roarty" this week as we did this show in the future (it's complicated, but you should really listen to Tom's explanation, even if Nikki didn't). In its place, we discuss the incredible — and incredibly inspiring — HBO documentary, "The Defiant Ones," which tells the intersecting stories of NWA and Jimmy Iovine and is something you should watch ASAP — or at least after you listen to this episode of HRS.

  • Summertime - S2E93
In Episode 93 of the “High Regard Show,” “Summertime,” we chat about summer (imagine that!), from Tom's summer camp experiences to Nikki's summer vacations down the shore in New Jersey. We discuss why Tom hates the ocean and water in general (nearly drowning will do that to a person, really), and Nikki fondly recalls running wild as a beach bum.
In “Roly Poly Roarty,” Tom talks about his upcoming trip to the Mayo Clinic next week, the mental giving up when dealing with a long, mysterious ailment and the hope that someday he can hopefully put this whole thing behind him and leave his couch-turned-prison for good. Or even just a little while.
Due to Nikki & Tom's upcoming trip to the Mayo Clinic, HRS will be on hiatus July 17, but don't worry, we'll be sharing some of our best (and worst! for fun!) past shows all week long for your listening pleasure so you don't miss us too much (though we know you will!). We'll be back on July 24 with a very special guest, so check you later, bitches!

  • Me The People - S2E92
In Episode 92 of the “High Regard Show,” “Me The People,” we talk to Nancy Holson, who wrote the books and lyrics for "Me The People: The Trump America Musical." The satirical revue recently raised curtain at The Triad in New York and is, as Nikki said, "a hoot." Nancy tells us how the show came to be, how it will respond to the always-changing actions of President Trump and what she'd say to get one of his supporters to come to the show.
In “Roly Poly Roarty,” Tom talks about his worsening health and increased dizzy spells as both he and Nikki await their upcoming trip to the Mayo Clinic, which hopefully figures out his situation once and for all.

  • Grindhouse Returns - S2E91
In Episode 91 of the “High Regard Show,” “Grindhouse Returns,” we talk grindhouse, one of our favorite genres of film that has now come to the small screen thanks to Syfy's new show, "Blood Drive." The campy romp is filled with blood, gore, sex and cars, which are just a few of our favorite things.
And no conversation about grindhouse can be complete without paying homage to the true grindhouse classics — as well as the delicious 2007 double feature of Quentin Tarantino's "Death Proof" and Robert Rodriguez's "Planet Terror." We might eat your brains and gain your knowledge if you listen, but there are worse ways to go, yeah?
In “Roly Poly Roarty,” we talk about the latest developments with Tom's health issues and how we've reached the point we may need to bring in Mike Tyson's Mystery Team as backup in case our upcoming trip to the Mayo Clinic doesn't solve them once and for all.

  • Lucky Chops - S2E90
In Episode 90 of the “High Regard Show,” “Lucky Chops,” we talk to Josh Holcomb of the New York-based brass band Lucky Chops. Together for more than a decade, Lucky Chops began at LaGuardia High School, aka the "Fame" school, and exploded from the city subway station onto the global stage thanks to a tourist's video that went viral.
Now, Lucky Chops travels all over the world, and Josh tells us about what drew him to the trombone (his answer may surprise you!), how the band makes sure to always give back to keep the music alive for today's youth and the first place he heads when he comes home to New York (just don't tell the Mrs. OK?).
In "Roly Poly Roarty," Tom shares a scary new health issue, which will actually land him into the esteemed Mayo Clinic next month — and hopefully get him back to normal.

  • Glitter Tribe - S2E89
In Episode 89 of the “High Regard Show,” “Glitter Tribe,” we talk to filmmaker Jon Manning, whose documentary "Burlesque: Heart of the Glitter Tribe" just hit Netflix. Not only does he give us an intimate look at the burlesque scene of Portland, Oregon, to give us a behind the rhinestones peek into the art form and his cast, Jon also gives a primer on documentary filmmaking, from discussing legality issues to the editing process.
Jon was so great and open to talk to that we skipped “Ya Heard” and “Roly Poly Roarty,” but fear not, both Nosy Nikki’s eavesdropping and Tom’s health update will be back next week.

  • Imagemaker - S2E88
In Episode 88 of the “High Regard Show,” “Imagemaker,” we talk to our very own Imagemaker, Lil Tyler Durden, who had her final photo exhibit at the International Center of Photography after its rigorous yearlong Imagemakers course. We put her in the hot seat about her shooting process and how it's changed over the past year, how it felt not having control over what work got chosen for her show and what she's looking forward to doing once she infiltrates, and probably takes over, FIT's photography program this fall.
In this week’s “Roly Poly Roarty,” Tom talks about blackouts, another scary health situation that's now popping up and how there may be another post-bariatric surgery patient going through the same thing. Plus, if you listen all the way to the end, you'll hear a special treat from Nikki.

  • Trials of Travel - S2E87
In Episode 87 of the “High Regard Show,” “Trials of Travel,” we talk about the summer travel season, which is now upon us and might be a shit show considering the crazy happenings on airlines lately, and if you think you're better off on mass transit, we'll we cover that, too.
In this week’s “Roly Poly Roarty,” Tom hands the mic over to Nikki, who talks about her recent battle with food and weight gain and how she was able to sneak a taste test of Skinny Prosecco, a cult-status U.K. wine brand that's vegan and low-sugar — and coming stateside (or at least to one city on the eastern seaboard).

  • Return to Twin Peaks - S2E86
In Episode 86 of the “High Regard Show,” "Return to Twin Peaks,” guess what we talk about? Tom's No. 1 favorite show, "Twin Peaks," which has at long last returned to TV after 26 years. We discuss why it's his favorite, the artistic brilliance of David Lynch, what we hope to see with the new chapter of this damn fine series and even spend a little time talking about Nic Cage of all people.
In “Roly Poly Roarty,” we discuss our diet and the changes we need to make to start eating healthier and give our thoughts on our NatureBox subscription.
