High Regard Show

Episode 66 of the “High Regard Show,” “Sxip Shirey,” features an interview with composer, musician and true creative Renaissance man Sxip Shirey. Sxip will release his latest album, "A Bottle of Whiskey and a Handful of Bees" on Jan. 13.

He talks to us about bringing his many artistic worlds together for the album release show on Jan. 9 at National Sawdust in Brooklyn, who inspired him to make music using found objects and what downtime looks like for a creative who fires on all cylinders.

In “Roly Poly Roarty,” Tom discusses how he survived the holidays with two Italian mothers, his latest running achievements and how he doesn't need no stinkin' resolutions.

In Episode 64 of the “High Regard Show,” “Runnin with the Devils,” we actually get to do almost that! Actually it was more of a complete workout, and if you really want to get technical about it, we mostly just watched, but we looked pretty good doing it. All of this was in an effort to promote a holiday workout routine created by the NHL's own New Jersey Devils and will be distributed free on their social media and website, so check it out if you're looking for something challenging to fill your vacation time with! For us, the biggest challenge was looking like we were working really hard preparing for this show while the other reporters with us participated in the actual workout. What? We have a hard time multitasking!

We also wanted to chat a little about "Haunting Renditions with Eliot Glazer," which will be at the Bell House in Brooklyn on Dec. 22 with Gilbert Gottfried and Phoebe Robinson. For our West Coast followers, you guys can catch the show Jan. 28 at The Echo in Echo Park, Calif., so if you're in either of those areas, check it out. For everyone in between the coasts, we still blame you for Trump, so you get nothing.

I think the holidays are going to be the death of us. Right now, time is a commodity we do not have a lot of. Are we the only ones feeling that way? I mean for as joyful as the holidays are supposed to be, can we agree that they are equally as stressful? I mean Santa, if you are out there, how about an extra week off for some of your favorite podcasters?

Hartman, who is perhaps best known for her shots of icons like Bianca Jagger, Halston and Andy Warhol at Studio 54 and behind-the-scenes glimpses of Fashion Week, is the subject of Otis Mass' "The Incomparable Rose Hartman" documentary, which premiered at Doc NYC last week.

We also speak with Otis, who tells us why he chose to have Rose be the subject of his first feature film, putting her in her place and his favorite scene from the film.

In Episode 58 of the “High Regard Show,” “Tyler's Gwar,” we interview Tyler Roarty (aka Lil Tyler Durden) fresh off the heels of college tours, photography and her first indoor concert shoot, Gwar. Talk about a first show to be thrown in the pits on! There was art, there was blood, there was passion, but above all else, there was talking, lots and lots of talking! Where ever does that kid get it from?

In “Roly Poly Roarty,” the first official doctors appointment is in the books one month after the operation, and things are going swimmingly! As of now Tom, is down 50 pounds in a mere four weeks, and the menu is expanding as wide as the workout regiment that is now allowed. Maybe, there is something to this weight-loss thing?
