In the biblical account from the Gospel of Matthew (14:22-33), Jesus walks on water to reach his disciples in a boat on the Sea of Galilee during a storm, a miracle signifying his divine authority. The disciples initially mistake him for a ghost, but he reassures them, and Peter even briefly walks on the water before his faith falters and Jesus rescues him. The story highlights themes of faith, fear, and Jesus's compassionate power. Enjoy this ENCORE Presentation!

Every September or October, the fast and holy day of Yom Kippur concludes at nightfall with a single, resounding blast of the shofar or ram’s horn. As a devout Jewish man living in first-century Judea, Jesus observed the biblical holiday known in the Torah as Yom Kippur meaning The Day of Atonement, recognized as the single holiest and most solemn day on the Jewish calendar.

September 17 is The Feast of the Stigmata of St. Francis of Assisi. This feast day honors the moment St. Francis received the stigmata—bodily marks resembling the crucifixion wounds of Jesus Christ. St. Francis received the wounds in September 1224 while praying and fasting on Mount La Verna in Tuscany, Italy. St. Francis is the first historically recorded person to bear the stigmata. The event signifies a deep spiritual union with Christ's passion and love.
