This case is about an entitled grown ass man who didn't want to be financially independent from his parents. These supportive parents informed their 28-year old son, they were retiring and he would have to get his very first job ever. However, he decided murdering them would be the only reasonable option. This spoiled man-child decided to murder his parents after their family gather for Thanksgiving. Prior to their meal, he made his list of items to gather; such as "killing knives" and "meat grinder". He listed ways to destroy physical evidence; such as flooding the house, setting fires throughout, and turning the heat up to "speed up decomposition" of his parents. He even noted an idea of how to stage the murder of his mother, as if his father committed the murder and then ran off. However, our genius murderer made himself exhausted from murdering and dismembering his parents, so he left his parent's house in Tennessee aka the crime scene and headed home to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, leaving behind a horrific scene as well as his Murder Notebook. Our murderer of the week is Joel Michael Guy Junior.

This week Claire has brought us a case from 1940s Italy, about just how far a mother will go for her child. The murderer in today's episode was cursed by her own mother for marrying for love over status. This young lady went through the loss of 13 children, either through miscarriage or the death of a young child through illness believing whole heartedly it was losses due to the curse. The mother became insanely protective of her 4 surviving children. So naturally, when her favorite son signed up for the military on the brink of WWII, she was told human sacrifice was the only way to save her beloved son. Spoiler alert, he does survive the war.
